This week we debrief my recent stay at NoMad Hotel Las Vegas including why I was really surprised at the level of quality and service. Speaking of quality, New York New York’s roller coaster also returned and it is actually very good with new trains. Who would have thought?
We also discuss some of the cooler dive bars in Las Vegas, share the new name of a historic Henderson casino which is being reborn and tell you how to find your Caesars Entertainment room when you are too drunk to remember how to get back to it!

Hi Shawn and Mark! Yes, I agree MGM is superior to Caesar's. CZR has deteriorated a lot! Enjoyed the video as always 🙂
Frankie’s is a great place! Very nice vibes.
Great channel
I always enjoy your content. You nailed the description of the smell at the Stage Door, or as we call it "The Hooker Bullpen".
Id love it if you showed more of the property as you narration.
Ellis Island was a great dive bar at one time.
The Double down Salon is the best !!
Thirty years of coming to Las Vegas twice a year and I still need help finding the poker room.
I can't stand the Cromwell. Last time I was in there it was full of obnoxious self-entitled millennials. Some were running around in the Casino in their bathing suits having a squirt-gun fight, and the Casino security just let that happen.
good to hear the roller coaster is back and better. thanks for the video guys!
Primrose is extremely underrated… the best Breakfast/Brunch experience in Vegas.
A good selection of topics from rollercoasters to dive bars!! Must try out a few of those dives next time and hopefully remember where I’m staying!! Thanks Shawn & Mark. 🇬🇧
Not really a dive bar, and speaking of no air filtration– I have to say the main bar in the El Cortez…ha
Shawn…I was gonna ask if your health is good. Its just you've lost alot of weight. Congrats!
Thanks for the great videos. Had not heard of NoMad hotel. My group usually stays downtown. We like Evel Pie a lot but there are (obviously) lots of options in that area. https://evelpie.com/
Thank you! Most enjoyable.
You check out the Atlantis Hotel . It looks very nice it is downtown reno vegas. I think it is new.
Hey Mark & Shawn another great video🤗. Mark i am with u, i love Cromwell, mainly because it just always felt like an adult hotel and now with the 21+ rule i cant wait to go back in March. I dont do high end stays in Vegas, the midlevel places do just fine. All our money is for gambling, shows and we do like the occasional high end dining. The Caesars Rewards program is great, I have never won any amount of money worth talking abt at an MGM casino. Adventure Dome rollercoaster is better than NY NY. And the new name for The Eldorado is horrible.😉
I'm a Caesars guy bc they comp better and Founders Card, but I've always enjoyed my stays at MGM properties. I just can't justify staying at MGM when I get such good deals at Caesars.
Frankie’s is great. FYI. They don’t play sports on the tvs and the drinks are strooooong.
Thanks Shawn & Mark!! Great info as always!
I haven't heard of Nomad, so I was expecting it to be a 'dive motel' seeing how it was lumped together with dive bars. Well, was I wrong! I look forward to watching your video of Nomad.
I like Stage Door too. It’s very accessible to the center strip. Friendly bartender. Cheap everything.
I went to Frankie’s this past fall and it is really cool. Great tiki lounge and they will comp beers if you play bar top VP. The Tiki drinks not included. Worth the price though.
Coomer! Keep up the great work!
Crown and anchor anchor dive bar 🍻 in Vegas smoking 🚬!
Thanks guys, looking forward to your Nomad video Sean!
Golden Tiki!
They removed the signage from the front of the El Dorado with only four letters on the backside of the sign remaining and they are currently painting the building white. I walked past there yesterday. Inside lights are still on machines are still on -don’t really like the name that they’ve chosen for this casino. Once Covid calms down we should do a miles to memories meet up at that tiki bar! Have you guys been inside the Henderson silver knights arena yet? (Lifeguard Arena) It is very nice. Not quite done on the outside but looks great!
Definitely MGM , always get great rooms and they hook it up nice for me 👍🏽. Keep up the good work guys ! Cheers
Stage door is a dump. But look, I stayed at ballys one time, wanted a hot dog (which is hard to find on the strip these days). At the rear of ballys there is a Nathans which will run you around 11 bucks with a soft drink. But literally across the street from there is the Stage Door. For $3 a beer and a 1/4 lb hot dog. Can't beat that.
Frankie's is fun, pours a good tiki drink and is well worth a trip. It's also obnoxiously smoky, if that's a concern.
Since Shawn is into Disney, I'd recommend Golden Tiki over Frankie's just because their theming is top notch. There's some debate in the tiki community which is the better Vegas tiki bar.
Went to go to Stage Door bar for years while a Hot Dog and Beer was $3. Haven't been there since
management change few years ago. But I've heard it's much different. Still
have to say, had some great times there.
The Stage Door Bar is a True Dive Bar. Delightfully Funky and filled with characters. Been going there for decades. Unfortunately, last that I was there in 2020 they have Heavy Security and photograph your ID. On my first visit to London I arrived in Victoria Station in the 80’s I saw an establishment labeled “Dive Bar”, so I had to go in. It was in the basement. Turns out in the UK Dive Bars are downstairs. Had a Proper English Pint of Guinness for 70 pence or about $1.25 USD.
I was a Bar Diver in my early 20s. I would drink till I dove to the floor
Love Frankie's!
Hi Shawn, I have a 2 night reservation with Linq thru Caesars Rewards in Oct for $73 total, which I think is a good deal. But with the new addition of $200 FHR benefit w the Amex Platinum, I am now considering booking NoMad with FHR instead. The total cost is $252 per night. Wifey also has the Amex Plat, so we will book for 2 separate nights. Out of pocket cost will be $104, after the Amex Plat credit. And with the FHR benefits, I believe this is the better deal, as we would get $340 credits with food and beverage. Any other advice about this idea?
