CNB Crystal is a piece of junk. I had it, and it was good, until they gutted it significantly.

How did you get the Karat card without meeting the 200k YT subscriber minimum?

I have the HSBC Premier card and the value got gutted. I’ll most likely cancel it. The new $400 Travel Credit is only when you book through their portal and is $100 back for every $2000 up to $400. It’s a pretty useless benefit. Also, if you qualify for a Premier account in one of the ways you mentioned (including direct deposit) you’ll keep your account even if you don’t have 75k with HSBC.

Don't have the Obsidian but I'm enjoying the 5% back on my spendings with my Icy White.

Thanks for the Star Trek references. Picard did say that money doesn’t exist in the 24th century. Quark would beg to differ, and I imagine he’d accept a black card if they’re still around by then. He would prefer gold pressed latinum though. Maybe by then, one of your distant relatives might be the β€œLatinum Shifu”.

If you want an easy-to-get black card without an annual fee, the Amex Amazon Business Prime card will fit the bill. It’s also a metal card.

The $400 travel credit on the HSBC card is actually 4 $100 rebates after spending $2k, $4k, $6k, and $8k through HSBC Travel

Hey Credit Shifu – thanks for the amazing video! If possible, you should look into / maybe review another invite-only card from India by HDFC Bank – Its called the HDFC Infinia Card – the annual fee is Rs 10,000 ($135), and it offers 10X rewards points on almost everything. What's amazing is that in exchange for that annual fee, you get 10000 points for renewing the membership (so, it's almost FREE!). Its base reward point rate is 3.3%, and 1 reward point = 1 Rupee (when used for Travel – flights/hotels, etc) and 1 reward point = 0.5 rupees (when used for amazon pay vouchers or other vouchers).

So it's like getting 33% (or, worst-case scenario, 16.7%) back on almost EVERYTHING. I think it is one of the best credit cards in the world!

hey bro, have a question that isnt related to this but on one of your other videos from like 3 years ago (i been binging your videos haha) so i just got the surpass card and i called AMEX because i had a question about the reward night if 15k is spent in a calendar year. it says free reward night on "eligible" purchases, I asked them what is considered "eligible" and they mentioned any transactions/payments within the hilton brand. Is this true? in the video you mention if you use this as your everyday card you should be able to hit the 15k spend amount easy (which is what i was assuming/hoping lol). Thanks for the great videos BTW i been binging your vids and its so helpful

bro thanks for the informative video.
I have a quick question tho.
1. Does option 2 for HSBC card mean as long as I make at least $5k a month and that money be deposited to my HSBC checking account, I should be qualified to apply for the HSBC black card?
2. Also, could I request for the Lion drawing design card? I saw this HSBC Jade Card online and that one had a lion drawing in the credit card and I really want to get a black card with a lion drawing like that one
