Same here. The first time I really heard any chatter about them is when they partnered with CapitalOne on their Venture cards and a few bloggers make some noise about it. I try to avoid OTAs other than when I have to book via UR/MR/TY portals.
Also I've read that you're not valued the same as those who book direct. I don't know if there is any validity to this. But as my mention in the FB group, my biggest fears with OTAs is having to cancel. This current economic situation and all of the horror stories you read about companies trying to hold money for flights that they cancelled is scary enough…I would hate to think of the hassle one would have trying to cancel now when an OTA is the middle man.
May have to at least give them a try when there isn't a decent Marriott around that I want to stay in or a Hyatt that I can transfer UR points to.
Can you do a future video on kayak.com in a future video.
Hilton does. Just not accruing points with Hilton. All benefits honored
Great video Dustin. Since I get the team member rate with Hilton, I usually don't look at other booking platforms. But I am interested in Airbnb. My wife is nervous because she saw that someone staying at an Airbnb got robbed. I'm trying to soothe that wound. I would like to try Airbnb. Take care Dustin and stay safe!
Great content as usual. What shopping portals can you use to stack? Also, would you mind giving details on the different ways you can stack please?
Greetings, Just wanted to say that I appreciate your efforts to introduce hotel options that most Youtubers don't talk about. Your approach seems to be more inline with the average traveler. Everyone isn't flying first class to Asia to stay at the Ritz Carlton (I Still Love Sebby though!!!). Love your content and I hope you and your family are safe and healthy. Stata Bon (Stay Well)
