Recently Chase added temporary benefits to the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred, including a new option called “Pay Yourself Back.” Round 1 of increased benefits must not have been enough, because Chase introduced more benefits, like more options for the Chase travel credit and more options to redeem Chase Ultimate Reward Points.

If Chase kept the 5x on grocery stores, I would probably use it more frequently than my Amex Gold.
I like your current set up! Keep it like for next video.
I would have downgraded my CSR if it wasn't for this! It effectively becomes a strong cash back card with 4.5% back on dining and travel and 7.5% back on groceries for an effective AF of 150. I plan on cashing out all my UR points now to simplify my life…
I watch a good amount of the credit card channels on YouTube. And I have to say out of all of them I appreciate yours the most as it really is straight to the point and the information we are all looking for. Thank you!
Great move on Chase’s part. Especially for someone like me who was considering downgrading to a CSP. Definitely keeping the CSR for another year. Now.. the only thing left would be for US Bank to loosen up, and start approving more people for the AR
Glad to see these changes. My AF was coming up in a few months and it's pretty hard to justify a $550 AF on top of using a $300 travel credit during these times.
How do you take advantage of this pay yourself back feature? Can you do a how to video after the 31st I have a ton of points I’d like to cash in might even consider upgrading to get that extra .25 per point
I don’t know why Chase doesn’t just revert back to the $450 fee for everyone in 2020 for both new and existing cardholders. I currently have the CSP and don’t know if it’s worth the upgrade to the CSR. Might wait until July to see what happens??
I’m planning to hoard my points for travel. If worse comes to worse, I’ll get Hyatt points. Note: the set up seams fine.
If I were in the Chase ecosystem, I would use it primarily for the hotel portal, and as a Hyatt transfer. Keep enough points on hand for a couple free nights, I would absolutely cash out the rest with this offer. Great move on Chase.
Totally agree, I'm flush with miles from transferring points after from cancelled flights, so I'm looking to cash out some UR points.
New set up looks great!
1.5cpp is good enough for me.
Only thing I ever wanted from Chase was Amazon Visa and they rejected me twice when I only asked once. lol
These are great!
10K Boom!🙌
I wonder when / how Chase will officially let us know about this. I haven't gotten an email, it's not on my statement, nowhere out in the open on the site.
I'm late to the party Dustin. These are great additions to the cards. I think these temporary benefits will definitely keep Chase customers loyal and possibly show potentially new ones to apply for their cards. Great to the point video and as always take care and stay safe!
So just to make sure, they way I understand it is that you'd get 5x back on groceries until June 31st up to $1500 so, that's 7500 points, at 1.5x per point that's around $112 back, which you will be getting back? Or will the points not count once the purchase is erased? Because that would potentially be $1500 worth of groceries for $1388!!! Which is WAY better than 7.5% back.
So can I use the $300 travel credit for home Retail store ??
Do not subscribe to "Ballers Wallet". That channel is all about spending and wasting money. This channel however is awesome.
Just curious if anyone has had any issues when filing claims. Backstory: I booked a trip to Portugal on my CSR back in February 2020 (trip occurring in July 2020). The airline canceled the flight very recently due to COVID-19. We booked our trip through Expedia to which they stated they would not provide a refund but instead a credit with specific terms of use. This pissed me off so I filed a claim through the CSR claim process and I was denied. Denied. For something they advertise they offer as a perk for getting the card. What is the deal here?
