Hey Credit Warriors, I am going out Black Friday shopping today, or maybe I’ll do it online I don’t know, I am in the market for a new huge TV. I’ll let you know what I get later on instagram, so follow me there, @thecreditshifu but anyway, before I do anything on black friday one website I always have a look at is Rakuten. It is one fo those cash back mall websites where you click through to certain stores and you earn extra cash back on your purchases, on top of what you earn on your credit card.

Now the special thing about Rakuten is their cash back can be earned as Amex membership rewards points instead, so every 1% cash back you earn is equal to 1 MR point. So if you see say 5% cash back, then yeah you would earn 5 Amex points per dollar, if you choose to redeem that way. And every black friday they have some insane deals! I want to show you what I’m talking about.

Walgreens 15% cash back or 15 MR points per dollar. And what is more if you click through you notice they are having a 25% off sale as well, and you still earn points on your credit card, so you are basically triple dipping. Walgreens is great if you want a new electric razor, make up or something like that.

Saks 5th avenue is 16% cash back, and Amex Platinum holders can combine that with their $50 credit, it’s great for christmas presents.

Samsung is offering up to 15%, but where you see “up to” it depends on department, so lets click in and have a look…

So it is 15% for laptops and a few other categories, only 2% for TVs so not for me, but hey if you want a new laptop, check out samsung.

Then there are a load of other 15% stores, like Kate Spade, Levis, Forever 21, Gap is doing 10%.

Walmart is up to 6%, so I have been taking a look at that because I have the freedom flex which earns 5% at walmart this quarter, including walmart dot com. Unfortunately the category for TVs is only 1%, but hey 5% on the Freedom Flex plus another 1% for a total of 6% is still good. And the freedom flax points can be transferred to the CSR to pay charges on the card at 1.5 cents per point which means 5% is 7.5% so overall I am earning 8.5%! And if is already $50 off because of black friday.

If you don’t have a card like that, and just want maximum cash back through Rakuten, then you can search individual products and see which stores online have them and how much cash back you will earn. Looks like the best deal here is to buy it from Dell almost $50 cash back, so that is even better than combining freedom flex and rakuten its like 12% or so.
But the only thing is if you order online it takes a few days, even if you pick up in store from Walmart, so you know I am tempted to go to Walmart at 5AM and get it, I kind of feel I want something big on Black friday to have fun with the family! I shot this video last night so, I may have already done that by now. Check my instagram story to find out.

Anyway guys, check out Rakuten, and see what deals you can find. There is a $40 bonus for signing up and making a purchase, so if you want to take advantage of that, link below. Let me know in the comments what you bought and how much cash back you earned.

Glad my state could provide you a little tax break lol. I was a lazy bum today but if that wasn’t the case I would have driven to Delaware for no sales tax.

Well, if you admit to buying in PA for 6%, you still owe 8% USE tax in NY (for bringing merchandise from another state). SHHH!

Also, 10% off Walmart in Cash App boost.
