I assume Chase makes CSP the little brother instead of being complimentary to CSR is because you can only have 1 of the cards. Makes no sense to make one complementary of the other if you can’t have both.
I had planned to upgrade my CSP to the CSR near the start of the year, but the annual fee increase made it not seem worthwhile so I downgraded it instead. But all these benefits are making me regret this decision. If they did make the 5x back for dining permanent, then I'd definitely get the CSR.
I just checked my CSP, and saw the 3x.

Since the CSR is now $550 a year they should make it a 5x on dining and travel and add a 3x on groceries. Or at least 4x on dining and 3x travel, gas, and groceries.

Keep the 3x on gas, and 3x on dining, and more people might actually keep the CSP beyond 1 year.
I'm digging all these points multipliers. Now, I just hope CHASE doesn't Devalue their points.

My personal opinion is that as soon we get a vaccine all Chase points will be devalued, these people are bankers not charities. They will give it to you with one hand and take with the other.
Honestly if Chase had a permanent grocery category, I’d use my CSP more often, or even upgrade. Otherwise, I’m sticking w my Gold for now. I spend way more on groceries than dining out. Great update!!!
Completely agree that the CSP should be a companion card to the CSR. It will keep the 95af coming in and maybe lead to another bonus category. 👍🏼

You rock Waller! CSR is my favorite card and all the recent bonus earnings have me loving the card even more.
Update: CSP now gives only 2x on restaurants category. It seems like it was a glitch.
July 3 purchase only given 3 points dinning with reserve card.
I’m getting comments saying the CSR has gone back to 3x and CSP has gone back to 2x. Let me know if you are still seeing the increased earning rates or not.
This is a nice bonus, but I will still be using the gold card because of the shop small bonus. I will still be using the CSR only for other the 5x categories and travel
Well guys, according to DOC this turned out to be too good to be true. Chase killed this after 2 days.
Confirming Reserved 3x only for restaurant/dining post on July 4th and 6th.
Is it worldwide daining ?

Checking today and not seeing the 5x on my CSR. Had a charge on July 3rd, 5th and 8th. Reading online, this may have been an error on Chases part. There were questions if they would claw back those points and since I'm not seeing the bonus, they may have.
You actually get your points AND get the travel credit towards dining and groceries automatically credited back to your statement.
Looks like we're gonna be doing some more dining purchases!
