I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but here it is: there is no growing bipartisan consensus to issue a second stimulus check, whether a one-time payment or a monthly, recurring payment. Republicans are stymieing efforts and, given their control of the Senate and the White House, the concept is as good as dead without their backing. If anything, recent Republican commentary has coalesced against a second round of direct payments.
Yes, Another Payment Would Be Incredibly Impactful
While the first round of stimulus payments – $1,200 for individuals, $2,400 for those filing jointly, and $500 for each qualifying dependent child – was crucial for many Americans, it wasn’t enough. A Bankrate survey found that 55% of respondents anticipated that economic impact payments would sustain them for less than three months. Another survey, conducted by SimplyWise in mid-April, not only reinforced this point, but also underscored the predicament many Americans are in; 63% responded that they would need another stimulus check within three months.
Almost immediately following passage of the CARES Act, new proposals for additional direct aid to Americans started popping up. Most recently, there has been increasing Democratic support for a proposal that Congressmen Tim Ryan and Ro Khanna had put forward in mid-April, the Emergency Money for the People Act, to provide $2,000 monthly payments to qualifying Americans.
The operative word, however, is “Democratic.” Adding 10 Democratic co-sponsors to a Democrat-sponsored bill is not going to move the needle without support from the other side of the political aisle; it certainly doesn’t signal increased consensus for a second stimulus check. It is the equivalent of a husband thinking that new support from his ten best friends increases the likelihood of winning an argument with his spouse; or, in the political realm, the same as more people in California, a state that awards electoral votes on a winner-take-all basis, announcing in 2016 that they were voting for Hillary Clinton.”

Politicians in the House and the Senate better not leave Retired Senior Citizens out of the second round of Stimulus payments because We need money too! We all Vote and there are 60 million of US! And what about Americans that avoided credit cards, ridiculously expensive cars/trucks, saved their money and paid off their mortgages and now own their Home outright? Those Americans would be punished for doing the right thing all of their working lives when people with overextended credit cards, huge mortgages, and $85K pickups truck get bailed out?
I understand that US government have large debt and we the people don't want to pass it on these debts to the future generation but with these situation, if the government doesn't give the second stimulus check, a lot of people will get desperate and I hope there will be no trouble. TRUMP you dont help you loose period.

I think that 1200 lasted me a whole 5 days. Didnt help that I got it when the bills came knocking.
McConnell said that the Supreme judges or the frist priority not a stimulus check that sounds like the rebublicans or leaning towards not wanting to give another stimulus check i have not heard one rebublican say anything about another stimulus check so yeah i believe the rebublicans only cater to the rich…vote all Democratic in the upcoming election

Basically both party want to give money to the people BUT with their own version of "additional things" added in and both party disagree with the other side of "additional things".
So instead of passing a small bill to give people direct money and doing a separate bill for other things they want to give money too, they want to hide whatever they want behind the idea of giving people free money.

I don’t make much money but I’ve saved up since I’ve started working. I take responsibility for myself and don’t want a handout. I don’t need or want another stimulus. The last one was a horrible idea and people have been getting fired on purpose to make more money. I want everything to open and for us all to go back to work.

My mother just told me that she finally got her stimulus check, but now she's been dealing with the unemployment office here in South Carolina and still no response and it's always showing a pending resolution message. It's getting ridiculous she can't work right now and she has no other source of income. We try our best to help out, but we are both in the same situation right now. Hopefully the unemployment gets a move on asap.

Odd, i heard the house of congress democrats keep adding stuff onto the stimulas check bill like, mandatory RFID for everyone, or gun bann's .. then the bill goes to senate and gets denied because all they want is to pass a stimulas check and not a gun bann or forced RFID chip's ..
