You’re awesome Dustin, keep it up brother.
Appreciate the genuine focus on content over inserting tons of ads (you can name a few other youtubers doing this). I personally sit through them because so many others are doing it already… especially considering your content is superior.
I personally don't mind a skippable ad in the video and may make a big difference in revenue which of course can be used to invest in the channel and make you some profit. I like your content and will continue to watch them.
Just a suggestion, I've seen other YouTubers who announce when the next ad will pop up. Maybe if you leave a quick disclaimer, people won't leave the video after the ad
I am your biggest fan. Can’t wait for you to reach 100 k subs very soon
It's probably better to limit the ads when you're a small channel. I do have YouTube Premium so I don't see it anyways, but the lack of fluff does keep me watching your videos. Also, have you considered a teleprompter? I used to make videos and found it to help
I have YouTube Premium. I’m not exactly sure how it works but I assume the channel gets a cut of my monthly subscription to replace the lost ad revenue.
Great content and positive motivation. Thanks for your vids. We have YouTube premium so we don't see ads, we just enjoy your quality presentation. Keep up the great work. If you ever need to see financial vids from a 12 Step Recovery perspective, you might consider checking us out. Anyways, all the best!
Graham Steph has waaay toooo many ads. Yer up and coming … like a mini AskSeb
Great video man. Respect ✊🏾 your candor is priceless.
You're right! Quality is the key. We'll still be here watching even if there is one or two extra ads. Keep on keeping on my friend.
There are ads on YouTube!?! The free YouTube Premium with Google Play Music is totally worth it! 😂 I thought you would make more money. I see now that your channel is relatively small: the quality is there, so I see a lot of growth potential!
Dustin, you have a lot going for you which differentiates you from others in the same space. I subscribe to several and while I enjoy them all, it's for different reasons. I love that you're relateable and genuine. You most definitely don't put in fluff in your videos and I tend to watch them just about from beginning to the end because of that. You don't concentrate on aspirational travel which seems to be the norm in the community for some reason. Maybe it's not glamorous to talk about economy flights or saving money as opposed to extracting the most value, but there are many of us that prefer this line of thinking. As far as ads, to be honest I use adblock on my desktop, so the ads don't even show up unless I'm on mobile. I do want you to get paid and get a fair shake out of providing this content. I think it's worth exploring all different avenues for monetization. Best of luck in 2020.
Love the shirt, Flash flash hundred yard dash
I agree with one of the guys what they said about content is key if you have a good stuff on your videos what you do I’ll stick around and watch it as long as the ads are skippable, And if you have a Lotta good points and it reaches past 10 minutes I’m staying for the whole thing Americans need to learn a little bit more patients life goes by too quick already
add more ads
Been here since the start waller
IDC about ads it’s only a few seconds
From all content on youtube I don't mind watching ads on channels such as yours that are really informative and helpful (love the credit card points and miles game). So I'm all for putting a few more skippable ads at least.
Dude put more commercials in in order to support you and your family. Your content is worth one or two more commercials for me🤙
I don't think you should limit your videos to just skippable ads. I also think adding in 1-2 ad breaks in a 10+ minute video is not unreasonable. The problem you have is by NOT doing this, the algorithm is not sending you as much traffic. Fewer people are finding you at all because the algorithm knows you are less profitable than other credit card YouTubers. I honestly would have assumed you were making $1,000+ a month since I currently am at 3K subs and am making about $600 a month. But my channel is a little different in that almost all my videos are over 10 minutes and I have put exactly 1 ad in the middle of all of them.
I watch all ads as long as the content provides value for me. Just another ad or two wouldn't really bother me
My favorite travel rewards/credit card reviewer… 20,000 is a reasonable goal. Momentum is starting….
Dustin, you know I'm one of your biggest supporters, so it probably won't surprise you when I say, put more ads in your videos, I will still watch the whole thing. Maybe wait a bit to add the first one, so your viewer is engaged in the video, then put in 2 or 3 ads after that. In the shorter videos, maybe add an ad that you cannot skip. No matter what you end up doing, just know you have a loyal supporter to the end. Take care Dustin and happy travels!
For me, your time should not be free! I'm cool with solid content and ads. In the end, if the content is solid I'm good with viewing ads knowing the profit goes towards you and improved vids.
You should put more ads evenly spaced out. Your content is good and I think people would watch and tolerate the ads for good content. You do need to get paid for your time.
Ur welcome, Waller. U always give gr8 advice and knowledge, bro. Plus its those guns u be flexin too <3 YAAAAASSSSS!!!!
Love the content you provide. Ads? Hate hate hate them. But I understand the need for them, both for you and YouTube. Skip ads are fine. I’ll watch them if they provide value. Non skip ads, nope. Just no. And as a side not, if you plan on doing some upgrades to the studio, I really hope you keep that map. It’s awesome.
I’ll keep watching if you as a second ad. You’re videos are simply amazing.
I appreciate your transparency and the information you provide. I think most of us agree that ads are necessary for you to continue your channel. Just keep up the good work!
I have the same dilemma on ads (I have another channel that is monetized, my earnings are slightly lower than your but not by much). I think only 2 out of 100 of my videos have mid-roll ads? On a "net" basis, would more ads get me more revenue? Not if everyone gets mad and quits watching. If you have an epiffany, do a follow up vid in 6 months!
I don’t mind some ads. Maybe you can add more revenue stream like reviewing travel strollers and add affiliate links? I appreciate all that you do!
Because of your unique position of traveling with an infant, I would love to see more videos on that topic including is infant award booking just 10% of the points or cash fare, do you create frequent flier mile accounts for your baby, etc. what was signing up for GE for an infant like? I feel like these topics are things you probably already dive into but don’t really talk about. Maybe a separate channel for award traveling with infant?
I truly respect you brother! You’ve answers all my questions I’ve ask in the last 2 years (IG, YouTube, Emails). Forget that asksebby guy and Creditshifu! Thank you for thinking about your viewers and not solely the $$$ you will make. However you want to move forward you have my support. I will share your videos with my colleagues as always.
thank you! i hate people who talk super slow and add fluff to stretch a video to over 10 mins
You’re the real deal unlike some others out there. You can add ads I’ll be here.
I click skip on all the ads. Sometimes those annoying ads can run minutes long. I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers. Great content and presentation. I found your videos when I listened to another video and it just rolled into your video.
I subscribed and clicked the bell. Good job, keep it up. Good luck.
My two cents: there are lot of points bloggers out there. Yeah, some are better than others, but most share the same info. I go to your channel first bc I know I'm not going to be bombarded w/ads. Credit Shifu has gotten ridiculous with ads, so much that I have steered away from his channel.
honestly i frequently watch 20-30 min videos with 3 or 4 ads and while annoying to have to skip the ad, i still watch till the end usually.
Great Job Waller, I have no doubt you'll reach 10K+ subscribers this year. I thought you were somewhere between $2,200 – $8,000 in revenue. BTW, I just downgraded my Delta Reserve, and got targeted for a 2nd BBP, with 20K signup bonus! One for business and one for personal, love it!
Hey man! Your videos are very genuine and you are a great person for keeping your audience in mind. I and many others really appreciate the tremendous effort you put into this. I really wish the best for you and I have no doubt that your channel will grow tremendously this new year. Put in ads if you have to! We will be here no matter what.
You are so down to earth! Thank you ! Hey how can we contact you via email?
Love your videos! Hope you reach your 2020 stretch goals!
Dustin, I say go for it. As long as your content is there ( and it ALWAYS is), 1 or 2 more ads won’t matter. Especially if skippable. I’m sure you have lots of great content recorded that you edit out for the final production due to your high standards. Try leaving 1 or 2 more minutes in, throw in an ad and see what happens. I’ll watch and you deserve to get rewarded for the great work.
Dustin you are correct. I don't think anyone would mind a extra ad or two when videos are about 10 min. There are some channels that I use to watch till they started having a ad every 60-90 seconds. I completely understand that ads pay the bills for creators and I do watch them so creators do get credit. I have truly enjoyed watching ur channel and the content that u put out. Hope u have a awesone day and keep smiling my friend.
Thanks for keeping it real and respecting our time! Quality and Integrity is always appreciated. Watching this video got you another subscriber…
I think you’re on the right track, Dustin. It’s a balance with ads, but quality content should be your main focus. You are one of my top credit card/travel/finance Youtubers! Keep up the good work! 👍
New subscriber here! Been a casual viewer of a few of your videos but this video made me a subscriber because of your honesty and genuineness. I'm willing to work through all those ads to keep you going buddy!
2 ads for a 10 min video is more than acceptable. It's cool you respect our time but we are all just wasting it on youtube. Add the extra ads and make that money bro. After all, we get this service for free.
I appreciate this video. I hope you start posting again.
