Las Vegas Invents More Fees, Back to Pre-Covid Rules, Big Entertainment News & The Gamble Box

by YouTube Team

Welcome to MtM #Vegas – Our weekly look at the cool #news and happenings in Sin City.

Las Vegas is essentially moving back to pre-pandemic rules as the Clark County commission did away with their plan in favor of a complete 100% opening. On the heels of this news we have a lot of changes coming to the Vegas entertainment landscape including many shows now cut and others announcing their return.

This week we also learned that #Southwest Airlines is launching direct flights from Las Vegas to four Hawaiian destinations and the Raiders are getting a new tailgate area on the Strip. Plus we look at new fees some venues in Vegas have invented and how a little box promises to help you save your bankroll.

Isn’t one of the terms of the Palms sale to San Manuel that they do not open until San Manuel takes over?

I was just out there and saw Fantasy @ Luxor. There was a pretty decent size crowd on a Thursday night. Tailgating in Vegas would be great. That’s combining 2 awesome experiences, and a must for a football fan. I’ll definitely mark the calendar for the MTM meetup. Thanks for the updates!

1st time watcher, enjoyed all your info. I've been traveling frequently to Vegas during the pandemic. So about 10 separate trips this year. Love to hear all the updates. Was there last week, loved not having to wear a mask when your fully vaccinated.

I am sure there are others but there has been a product called Winners Bank around for years which is exactly the same idea as the Gambler's Box. The Winners Bank is more expensive but pretty much would need an acetylene torch to actually break into it…the Gambler's Box, not so much.

Excited about playing full table poker games again. I'm going for 4 days June 14th. Staying at the four queens screw the strip.

Always fun to watch you two! Interesting topics! Las Vegas establishments' 'extra fees' are ridiculous, and may deter some people from going there in the future. We have all been hurting during the pandemic, so get your hands out of my pocket! PS: YT has not been sending me notifications for your new videos either, but as a subscriber to several channels (mainly animal-related) it is not just your channel. I guess YT is struggling with the sheer volume of users right now. Yeah, some excuse, right? 😆 Cheers!

Same thing re: fees is happening in Atlantic City. At Harrah’s you pay a $40 resort fee that includes the pool AND $20 to get into the pool (open to registered hotel guests only). 😳

Thank you for the update! Usually I go to Vegas once a year, but I haven't been since 2018. Vegas has changed so much in recent years that I've lost interest. The fact that they've added parking fees are a big bummer. Gone are the days where you can hop from casino to casino and have free valet parking at each one. Also, the day clubs/ pool parties that I used to enjoy going to now seem to require paid reservations . They used to be free if you were on a guest list and/or if you arrived before a certain time. I really hope they remove the fees once the city recovers from the Covid recession! On another note, I have fond memories of stopping in Jean and in Primm on the drive from California. Jean and Primm have more of an old-school Las Vegas feel than the Las Vegas Strip does

When I lived in Los Angeles from 2001 to 2003 I would drive up and sometimes stay at Gold Strike (now Terrible's) or stop off at Primm to play some Blackjack. Even back then, they were going downhill: you could tell by the condition of the elevators and the latrines.
Gold Strike did a lot of business with bus excursions. The line for the buffet was always clear across the casino and never got any shorter as the buses kept arriving. But after Nevada Landing closed across the road, the whole area just seemed to go below critical mass.
As for the stadium, I've always been skeptical about it and I'll be surprised if it ever shows a profit–and the same for Circa, Virgin, and Resorts World. There, I said it and I'm glad.
OTOH, they say people are lining up to pay $65 at Caesars Bacchanal Buffet–plus tax, plus tip, plus parking. So maybe there's hope after all.
Cheers.

Geee. Maybe because June is fully booked for conventions and the city can’t lose those millions of dollars and all the money conventioneers spend in town with any restrictions

Great vid!

I apologize if I missed it in a previous video, has there been any discussion or preview of or if Resorts World will have a buffet?

Hey guys, I was just up in Vegas the last couple of days. I spoke to a lady at The Excalibur and she told me that they are reinstating parking fees next month. I have no idea if her info is accurate or not. BUT! If it is, most likely that would carry over to all the other MGM Properties.
Getting back to normal may not be as welcome as many think!
I suppose that is their way of welcoming back their customers. I hope people make their feelings known regarding all the bend over fees.

Vegas needs build a fever with the hotels.. the food .. the pools .. the nightlife.
