Wow. This would be huge. First post!!
So who is eligible for this hypothetical mortgage relief?
Uh wow. Sorry many emotions stoked with this video and even a proposa as such. So without going too far down a rabbit hole I’ll say this…my wife and I own rental property and love our tenants and certainly are doing everything we can to help. We have them 3 months free because we’ve been blessed and when you’ve been blessed I believe one should, if they can, be a blessing.
Now that I’ve got that outta the way I will say this. As an owner of rental property the LAST thing I want is for the government telling me what I can and can’t do. When times are tough these sort of bills/proposals seem awesome but when times are good, or at least decent, most of us can agree that we’d appreciate the government keepers if their nose out of our business.
I said all of that to say this, folks should be careful of what they wish for. Government has enough say and control…I for one am not looking to give them any more than I have to. You start giving them power now and there’s no one stop them later.
Here’s to hoping that we all get through this together.
Awesome video Dustin. Very much appreciate your efforts and time you give to such. See you at the next one.
In regards to the stimulus check I've never seen so many people complaining about receiving money that wasn't earned. I don't mind a one time payment but multiple payments are fiscally irresponsible and unsustainable. Not sure about freezing rent, I'm not a landlord so I don't know how that would go over or what the consequences will be.
That would be so valuable for a lot of people !
NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I own my own property and rent out 2 condos and sunk every dime I have to not have a mortgage, so if this passes, i will have to pay thousands in taxes, HOA, insurance, maintenance for myself and 2 other families with NO income. insane. as a landlord that is my source of income.
I'm saving up my unemployment to buy Y'allz foreclosures right quick. 😋
This is ridiculous😒😒😒…even though I know it's not the companies fault because as long as people were receiving their tax refunds with no problems then there wasn't a big fuss but I blame the IRS and whoever came up with how stimulus checks were being distributed to people…the BIG problem is MISCOMMUNICATION & being UNORGANIZED🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️…my daughter used TURBOTAX and has yet to see any dates or deposits from IRS😞😞😞
Meanwhile…Bills, essential expenses, our kids and our sanity and health are all suffering from this pandemic😪😪😪
I mentioned this possibility to my landlord. His response was, "I wonder if I can get the money [from the government] ON TOP OF rent.
In other words, he wants to claim the rent reimbursement AND still charge rent. When I told him that they wouldn't let him double dip.
So he said, "That wouldn't benefit me at all." stating he would rather forget the government payments and enforce monthly rent payments like usual.
He thinks it's unfair that his renters get benefits but he doesn't, and therefore takes a "benefit me or no one gets it" as if he is extorting at least a partial off the books payment on top of full reimbursement from the government. He says he doesn't want the government to know he is a landlord due to certain enforcements. I've always suspected he wasn't claiming rent income on self employment schedule C.
I'd rather have the $2,000 or even just $1,000 so the landlord can't block it or steal part of it from me.
What does the part "provision of 10 percent to tenants" mean?
Can you say destruction of the banks and mortgage companys? 2008 all over again…great idea to add to the problems we already have. This is only a Dem plan to further crash the economy and introduce their communist universal income. Inflation high and property values would plunge.
it is disturbing that someone (and we all know it was) proposed this bill.
Thanks for staying up to date on the current events that effect so much of us, Dustin. Fortunately, we own our house free and clear, so this would not effect us, but this would help so many people. But their are drawbacks to this and we need to be careful in what we wish/hope for. Maybe some more modifications should happen before this comes to fruition. Take care and stay safe Dustin.
Make right decision , use wisdom !Cancel Rent and Morgage payments .😊
