The American Express Everyday Preferred is one of the best credit cards available for families, groceries, or someone looking for a simple credit card. I’ve had the Everyday Preferred before and even with American Express once in a lifetime rule, I’m getting another credit card bonus on it.

I did the Same thing with my every day card I upgraded it to the Preferred and they gave me a 25,000 bonus for spending 2000 as well
Do u smell that?! at 0:05 OMG all im thinking about is Covid-19 😵
I was thinking about updating my everyday card but I don't see that benefit of it
Nice play. The stars lined up for you.
Haha, I'm hoarding UR and Hyatt points right now. Imma try and run the Hyatt gauntlet and do a rotation of annual stays, points, and five night award. I almost have the points on hand for 3 trips and 21 nights…
I already have the no annual fee everyday card. Can I apply for the everyday preferred and downgrade in the future and end up with 2 no annual fee card (not my plan, just curious).
Nice! I got the same offer with the same extension. I was already considering applying for it, so this is a Win-Win-Win for me.
IF YA SMEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLL WHAT THE AMEX IS COOKING!!!!!!!!
This is awesome – you get the bonus twice! I would have done the same exact thing. And its nice knowing you have an extra 3 months for the spend period. Take care Dustin and stay safe.
Thanks for throwing that new Amex in my face, D. Lol
Churn baby!
There it is!!!!!!!!!
I see the logic based on bonus, but 6% real cash on my Blue Cash Preferred vs. 3X really annoying, hard to use points? That card doesn't even make the first cut. It's long overdue for a major redo. It's not hard to see the AmEx cards that are obsolete. They still use raised numbers.
AMEX MR points are among my favorite as they have good transfer partners for Business/First redemptions. What do you plan to redeem these for as a coach flyer? The AMEX portal won't get you to your 1.5cpp valuation.
THE GLOBE. IT'S ALIVE! or am I hallucinating?
I've been getting the same upgrade offer. However, I have never had the EDP, still may upgrade. Not sure yet.
There's some weird stuff going on at AMEX. I have an 800 credit score and the only AMEX card I have is the simply cash business card (the card they gave to people when AMEX lost the Costco relationship) which I barely use.
Anyway, two nights ago I apply for the AMEX Hilton Surpass card and was rejected with the message that said something like "You are not eligible for this card due to the amount of balance transfers, new accounts or bonuses you have received". Well I've never done any balance transfers with any card company or received any sign up bonuses from AMEX. However, I did get the chase ink preferred in September, the ink cash in January and the ink unlimited in February. So maybe AMEX has it's own version of the 5/24 rule right now?
The funny thing is AMEX has been spamming me to upgrade to the blue business cash card and when I go to the "Check for Pre-qualified Credit Card Offers" it says that I am qualified for the Gold Card, Green Card, and the lowest level Delta card.
What a mess !
Don't see the 30k new member offer on the Everyday Preferred anywhere, incognito or not. Looks like Amex is holding it back for now.
No lucrative AmEx offers for me recently. My last one was spend $1000 on air France and receive 20k points which I took by booking my parents on a trip to Europe this coming September. My newest card is the Gold card and I did get the 50k SUB and also got a 20k retention offer on AmEx Plat with $3k spend (not the best I saw) but I took it anyway got an easy >6x to offset renewal coming in May. Fair chunk of points there so cant complain! Hope all is well on your end Dustin.
No upgrade offers for me. I received a couple of Luxury Card Black Card offers in the mail. Maybe my spend isn't high enough and pay all statement balances monthly.
I've had the EDP for a couple of years (pre-contactless). When I saw that it was no longer being advertised on their site, I was worried that it would eventually be shutdown and I'd be forced onto Green/Gold. If they're still upgrading Everydays to EDP, that's really good news!
I concur that this card is a hidden gem and probably the best non-cashback card for general everyday spend.
I agree after the one year is up, downgrade card back to no fee version.
One suggestion I might offer. I've never yet seen any of you credit card gurus mention the free credit monitoring programs offered by different credit cards when you mention the benefits. Most will agree that we really need to monitor all three agencies to do the job correctly and each card offers one. By knowing which card has which and actually signing up for the service, I've been able to cover all three. Over the last year, I actually found that the free services were faster to report a change than the fee based services. Just recently, I was notified three days earlier.
Just a thought.
I was also targeted and accepted the upgrade 😁
@UCJomP7DhzLNZwDSAvio-sig How do you figure 1.5 ccp? I calculate 1 cent per point. Please advise. Thank you
I checked my offers and noticed I got the same one: 25k points for $2k spend. Given that I already have the amex gold, would it still be worth it to upgrade?
Just got my AMEX Everyday Card upgrade offer yesterday…. 25,000 easy MR points !!!!! Our strategy will be 2 sock drawer the EVERYDAY PREFERRED CARD after we reach our bonus. Maybe just using it for the gas benefit only.Currently we are using our new CFU I had the wife apply 4 and we get 5 points per dollar on groceries 4 the next 12 months. We’ll just wait until the CFU grocery benefit runs out next year before maxing out the AMEX Everyday Preferred 4th quarter next year. LOL!
I just received an invitation to request… I am being offered 40,000 bonus points to upgrade to their American Express every day preferred card
I was not sure if this would be a soft or hard pour on my credit, but thank you for the information that it’s a soft pull!
I am in the grocery store a lot so this may pay off for me. Thank you so much for all the gems you have dropped!🥰
I'm getting a new upgrade offer for 40k MR points after 2k in min spend in 3 months. I'm def gonna do it.
I currently have the free version but got email offer from Amex to upgrade & get 40K MR points after spending $2K! I think it’s a good offer but also just got Platinum 100k offer & that comes with 10x MR points on Gas & Grocery stores… hard decision! Any thoughts?? WWYD?
I realize this video is over a year old, but I figured I would mention, i had a similar situation. A few weeks ago I downgraded from edp to ed. Today I noticed i had an offer to upgrade the card back to the edp. My offer was only 15,000 points, but for $1,000 spend. That still more than covers the af, even with valuing points at 1.25 cpp (cs platinum cash out.) it will be easy for me to meet the ms.
I know this video is old, but i got a upgrade offer to the EDP last week. 40,000 points for 2k spend for 3 months. It was a no brainer!!!!
I got a 40k upgrade offer
