Retention offers are a great way to save yourself money and even earn points. Sometimes this can help you not pay a credit card annual fee. While you may not always get a retention offer, here are 8 tips I have used and others have to help them get their annual fee reduced, either by points, credit statement, or have it waived.

Great tips as my Amex Gold annual fee just hit.
I use my cards probably more than anyone and I've never gotten a retention offer.
In another note: is there a repeat at the end of the video?
I haven't tried to get a Retention Offer YET
Great info. I got retention offers for the Platinum and EPD earlier this year.
Platinum = $200 statement credit after $3000 in spend in 3 months
EDP = $75 statement credit or 7500 MR points after $3000 in spend after 3 months
I tried to get better offers but they told me that those were the only options available to me.
I got a retention offer for my Amex SPG card (now Marriott Bonvoy) in 2018 when I called and asked for one. I got 7,500 SPG points which was great as they were points before the conversion to Marriott points. (7500*3 in Marriott currency). I paid my Schwab Platinum card annual fee already Damn!!!
Great tips! Everyone who is thinking of cancelling or product changing should watch this.
