One of my favorite credit card benefits, is cell phone protection. Credit cards with cell phone protection offer great value as we see cell phones, like the iPhone 11, and Google Pixel 4 become more expensive. Paying your cell phone bill with one of these credit cards can be a cheap way to repair your cell phone if it were to break

Not all world elite mastercard have that benefit. I recently fine out that citi double cash don't have that benefit.

I currently have the prestige, and I think whether I keep it will depend on if I continue to make use of the 4th night free benefit. If not, I will be switching to the Citi Double Cash for cell phone coverage which is decent coverage plus earns 2x thankyou points

Ugh. I just switch payment from wf Amex propel for my cell phone payment to get the 5% on chase freedom for the next 3 months because we pay about $330 a month for a family plan. Dustin, was this a good idea?

I use my Wells Fargo Cash Wise to pay my phone bill. It's the only credit card I have right now that has cell phone protection.

I use my Ink Cash for my cell payment and I’m sure they don’t offer cell insurance which really sucks

Does the protection extend to the secured version of the USBP?

You got something very wrong (repeatedly).

The $600 maximum per claim is after deductible, meaning, you break a $1,000 phone, you pay first $50, they pay next $600, and you (or secondary insurance such as homeowners or renters insurance) pay the last $350. Deductibles subtract from the damage claim, not from the policy coverage. They are capping their payout at $600. You are stating "the coverage less the deductible" instead of "the damage, less the deductible, up to the coverage".

Also, fine print typically says the new phone has to be purchased outright (not as a monthly installment) and must be purchased new from a cell phone dealer, like AT&T, T-mobile, Best Buy, etc. In other words, a used cell phone from eBay can't be purchased as the replacement.

Not all World or World Elite MasterCard has the Cellphone protection. Check with your bank. My Quicksilver World Elite MasterCard doesn't offer this.

I would go with Wells Fargo if I could stomach it. I use the Chase IHG Rewards Premier instead.

I use my Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard for my cell phone bill but that could change in the distant future to my AAdvantage World Elite Mastercard if I choose to cancel the Hawaiian Airlines card. I don't know yet. We'll see how much spend I put on the card in the first year.

That’s an amazing benefit! I’m on a cell phone family plan and I’m not the account holder but I pay my portion of the bill directly to the cell phone company each month; am I eligible for this benefit if I pay my portion with my World Elite MasterCard?

We will be using the new Wells Fargo Active Cash credit card so we can get cell phone protection.
