You didnt provide examples. What hotels are IHG? How many points for XYZ Hotel?
You are a machine, dude. How do you make so many videos? lol
This is the ONLY Chase Mastercard. Is there any reason?
I’ll pass on this one. I don’t like the point redemption
Hey Dustin. I use my Ihg card for my cellphone protection since they offer more $ protection than the wf propel even if my deductible is higher. Just helps me use the card. I just used it also to pay my mortgage at plastiq right now since they are charging 1% to Top off my Ihg account. Great video.
I think this card is actually pretty good. I mean the benefits that you get and the TSA/Global Entry credit, free night benefit…sounds great! Although, I have never stayed at an IHG property, I would if I was to apply for this card, but only for 100,000 or higher. Solid breakdown of the card, Dustin. Take care and happy travels!
I use this card to pay my cell phone bill for cell phone insurance.
On my 1st ever hotel redemption using this card, I got $6800 worth of value at the IHG Thalasso. Its definitely a keeper card. It was an awesome trip! It was like staying in an Instagram post for 8 days. Ended up spending $5300 for $24000 worth of travel.
Worth having or better to bank points with Hyatt?
I valued them at 0.48 cents per point, based on my use case. Also, their redemption options are fairly poor for me.
The cell phone protection is the only thing that'd make me consider it, but quite frankly I'd rather go with the Wells Fargo Propel for cell phone protection.
Just made my first points redemption after getting into credit card rewards, and I'm pretty happy. I applied for this card when the bonus was 125k. Booked 3 hotel rooms for 4 nights over Thanksgiving weekend in 2020, so I received 4th night free benefit once for each room. Didn't have enough points from the sign up bonus and the required minimum spend, but found today that IHG had a promo and matched 100% of purchased points. So I bought 85k points for $850 and received 85k points free. In total I redeemed 315k points that cost me $939 ($89 annual fee plus $850 purchased points). Rooms were $330 per night so the total cost would have been $330 x 4 nights x 3 rooms = $3,960.
I am getting this card. I did a lot of research. Like the benefits alone are just bananas. The cell phone protection alone makes this worth the annual fee alone. Then you add on Global Entry which makes it even more worth it. Then the free night per anniversary is great especially for me. I can plan a weekend trip and save money and in the meantime get platinum status. But like I said my main reason I'm getting it is because it's a world elite mastercard for $89. With that price it's just unreal for cell phone protection and global entry. And the Lyft credits dont hurt it either
I was Spire every year since inception, and platinum for10 years prior to that. I wish I had gotten this card sooner. The 4th night free, 5X point stay, TSA PreCheck rebate, first year bonus & anniversary night all great. I do however stop using the card once I reach my goals (except for stays) and move on to my Delta premium card as on points it isn't that great. Look at it this way, the anniversary night pays for the card.
I’m considering this card when I fall under 5/24 next year. I really like the 4th night free benefit. I often stay in the same place 4 nights (but never 5). Why don’t people talk about IHG very often? Is the loyalty program not as good?
