How do you deal with copyright?

So now I won’t complain when I see an ad but the question is how much of the ad do we have to watch before you get credit for it

interesting as I'd be curious how much audience location for the 3 channels also plays a role. Or how something like adblocker also might pull down the revenue of the two nerdier channels.

I never see any YouTube ads. I'm rooted with Vanced YouTube.

A lot of viewers are getting disgusted by the recent increase in the number of ads in YouTube videos. I gave up on watching broadcast TV years ago because of the decreased quality of content. I’m about to cut YouTube out of the rotation because of the irritating ads.

I was a Google Play Music subscriber at 7.99/mo which has been rolled into YouTube Premium. Gotta love no Ads.

So I wonder how YouTube Premium watchers affect ad revenue since we never actually see ads.

YT Premium: What are ads?

Reply
Jaciel Espinosa-Severo August 20, 2020 - 8:26 pm

As much as I love your channel, promoting the sponsor of this video was a terrible idea and does make you a sellout. I downloaded the app when you first mentioned it in the channel and it doesn't work.

I never see an ad because I pay for YouTube premium, the amount of YouTube I watch is a lot, I don't have time to be watching an ad for the information I need

My RPM is $9.54. My channel isn't far over 1 million views, but for my last million views I made $9,700.

I expected this to be something about how the system is bad and reality is very twisted and YouTube not viable. But no. You shared with us the details and we're grateful 🙂 Thank you for the truth.

I don't see ads. I do pay for YouTube Premium though. Curious how my subscription is carved up between all the videos I watch.

YouTube ad revenue is literally less than pocket change. Luckily most YouTubers make vast majority of their income from sponsors and merchandise.

Ah. I was really hoping for that mid reel ad! Would’ve really driven home the point. I guess I’ll go back to Graham to scratch that itch

I can’t wait for Generation Credit! You know, like which Jedi is most likely to visit the Cayman Island? Or which character carry the Black Card around.

If you can't spend $12 on YouTube Premium, you don't value your time. Henceforth, you'll never be wealthy.

Curious about the ballpark revenue for the "video sponsor" ads creators put inside the actual video… like the maxrewards one you have here… and how the Youtube Premium plays into all this.

Reply

You're the first person to mention that you can have ads in the middle of the video. It must be in the last 3-4 years that youtube allowed mid video ads. It used to be just one ad at the beginning of the video. Graham mentioned that credit cards is a high paying topic for videos so thanks for sharing.

I tolerate ads when they're tastefully done, and relevant to the video. There are other YouTubers who put in those off-topic, 10:00+ cheesy infomercials which go on and on about something useless. My wife encountered one which was 45:00 long!! Quick way to get the "dislike" button smashed for the algorithm. 😤 lol
