In this video we look at how many people are actually getting more from the enhanced unemployment benefits under the CARES act, as well as economic stimulus checks or economic impact payments. One Washington Spa owner got a loan from the Paycheck Protection Program to cover her payroll and the staff were angry because they were all looking forward to an extra $600 per month from unemployment, which is part of the massive stimulus package passed by congress in March.

Most food service jobs would show minimum wage salaries of ~$25000, not including tips – which would almost double (if not more in some occasions) the amount of money they make easily. So the $600/wk makes it worth it IF their restaurant is closed, given some are still open

I would like to call it an "inconvenience fee" for waiting to get a meager $275 a week here in Florida,  other states get way more then here, so this to me is a good thing but most people wont think so as they are getting screwed by not getting extra.  I have been waiting for over a month to get paid.. try living on $275 and have no money in the bank.

This happened to me. I’m a lifeguard at my local pool and thanks to the CARES act I went from $146 a week to $880

It's a good thing for the individuals struggling, but I fear the law of unintended consequences. There are SOME people (not all) who don't have intrinsic motivation to work. What happens when it's time for everyone to go back to work? "You're telling me I'm supposed to go back to work at my $28,000 per year job and make less money???"

The real reason they are giving us more money is that people on lower incomes already know what they would spend/invest a bonus on, whereas people with higher incomes might just let the money sit in their bank account.

I'm most likely not eligible to receive state unemployment or the federal PUA but I can't even be angry at people who are now receiving more from state UI + PUA than they were at their jobs. Fairplay to them. The state UI + PUA is a temporary thing so they will at some time have to find a job. Hopefully when all of this is over they will be able to get better jobs that pay them a living wage.

The stimulus checks aren’t “Trump checks” so saying liberals taking Trump money is a bit of a stretch. If anything, conservatives are the ones who should be “offended” by the “socialist handouts”.

If the first round of Stimulus(2 trillion) actually went to the people you would have got between 6 and 7 thousand dollars instead of 1200. Thats right you got less than 20% of the amount passed. Guess who got the rest?

These Republican Senators say this crap straight faced, and yet they are
making $174,000 per year just to run their lying mouth.

For as little talking and working they do, that probably comes out to roughly $1,000/hr
