they should have been paid that amount to begin with. This is exactly why it take only 1 month of not working to go broke….what can $10 an hour do for you when +50% of that will go to rent/mortgage.

Mitt Romney-$12 raise! Huh? So who will be paying for this? How will this help people NOT employed? How the HELL does a trucker get a $12 raise when we get paid BY THE MILE? WHO decided who is an essential worker or not? By the time we figure all this out, it WILL BE JULY and no one will get ANYTHING! And you expect the employer to help pay for this? RIGHT! And WHO will want to get a 50% OR MORE pay cut in August??? This is the WORST PLAN EVER! Thanks for wasting our time, Mitt.

Romney has the right a idea with the Patriot Pay as it would put money in the hands of those who would spend it. Along this thinking we need to expand the program to all wage earners, if not to fight income inequality, then to shore up the economy. Indeed, increasing the minimum wage is a win-win for all right now.

I work in the grocery retail business 40 plus hours a week, and we are at risk everyday. So this is 100% justified.

Not to downplay the contributions to the people that have already been recognized such as First Responders delivery people and grocery store workers etc. But as some who works in IT it sucks that we have to keep going to schools and Government offices risking our own and our families Health's. When we get no recognition.

FML 😑 I work Security and my company is super cheap, we’re they won’t pay hazard pay even though we’re dealing with more than a grocery store clerk has too.

The property we protect is a mall in a bad area we’re meth and heroine are the main drugs people are on when we’re dealing with them. So far we have been dealing with them breaking in sleep but starting to have them breaking in to rob.

I’m a supervisor so my hours were cut down too 32 hours a week while my of security officer had their hours cut down to were they can apply for partial unemployment were they can get the add $600 a week.

They are making more money and working less while I’m making less money and work more hours compared to them.
I’m not upset with them about them getting the money I told some of them about it.

I work in a nursing home directly involved in rehabbing COVID patients. Since the outbreak I have been in all long term residents who were affected. We have to wear PPE and are at their bedside all day, in one room for 30 minutes and out to another patients room. We are not getting any hazard pay from employer . Yes I make good money but I am at risk of putting my disabled husband and kids at risk everyday. What I do is not the same as what a grocery store worker does and they are getting hazard pay from their employer. Now in this video if this is proposed I would not qualify or would get the least amount of money. Does that seem fair, I don't think so. This county is a disgrace, they have no idea what it is to work in a room with ppe on all day on top of covid patients and seeing many loved ones die and the trauma and stress it has caused us health care workers. All health care workers should get a bonus and different from other industries. They are not directly in contact with positive corona virus patients day after day, hour after hour.

Seems like a waste of money. We need to provide stimulus to the middle class and not limit them to the wealthy hospital workers.

Bank of America is now holding on to cash back instead of issuing it on a regular basis. Amounts are showing in active but are not redeemable. When I asked what has changed, they could not provide a straight answer or gave me a contradicting information. I’m curious if other banks are doing the same.

So people making more than 50k lives matter less? You basically excluded doctors and nurses in this. The ones in the heart of it.

Not fair. Give them 2400 each month like everyone else

25 a week, my part time give me 18hrs a week. That’s so unfair I’m risking my life too. What should I do?

Reply
Eric Donovan May 3, 2020 - 5:24 am

should just give everyone 1920 a month until July regardless .

Reply
Shawn Nichols May 3, 2020 - 6:36 am

I think they should just foot the whole bill and give every working American a significant pay boost through July as a disincentive to remain on unemployment.

Straight up Republicans don't care about the poor meaning if you make under 50k your poor and democrats care they have always cared they proposed way more money everytime and Republicans talk about stupid dumbass shit that should not matter at this time so what if America owe money why are we talking about that at a time when 100s of people are dying a day, people are starving, and people are broke let's worry about that bullshit later how are they going to get out of this if half America is dead from the virus

Reply
Keiyion Bolin May 3, 2020 - 10:22 am

Wait a damn sec that makes no sense that means you have to work 40 hours to get the 1920 I work for the grocery store and they are giving us 25 hours a week some less that means we would get 1200 dollars extra a month wtf… He lost his mind

Meanwhile my neighbor is getting 2400 plus the unemployment payment adding up to 3000+ just staying home and chilling while I'm exposed to coronaretta and bring in a current income of 1800 a month 🤔

I like the idea. Seems a lot more organized than the Dems Bill.

One way or another a Bill is getting passed. I know a lot of people are dismissive, but the fact that both sides of t he aisle are coming up with "Essential Incentives" means one way or another, we're gonna get something.

Do SSDI get this stimulus

Reply
Keila Z May 3, 2020 - 8:22 pm

If this happens, which I doubt. The hazard pay should not count as “income” for those who get government help such as SSDI and SSI. This extra income might very well put them over the income threshold. Meaning those on SSI who get SSI based Medicaid could lose health coverage due to any hazard pay.

What about if we are an essential worker, working this whole time and my employer doesn’t give me any hazard pay, would I be eligible?

I don’t care for this because my company is considered essential but it wasn’t listed as such in this video. I deliver auto parts to car dealerships. I deal with the public every day for $9 an hour and according to this video I’ll get zero, zilch, nothing. Thumbs down…

Eric Hengehold May 4, 2020 - 10:09 pm

Tell Mitt Romney he can shove that idea up his ass. You tell me, what employer is going to just decide, out of the goodness of their heart, to give their employees a $3.00 raise. I work in EMS and I can assure you, that won’t happen.

As someone who lost their job due to COVID-19, I 100% suppose hazard pay. If anything, this isn't enough for them.
