Sorry if this is a dumb question, but can you transfer the points to a Sapphire card?

Not very interesting unless one knows how those point can be used, other than hotels.

I’m definitely getting this card. I have the old Chase IHG Rewards Club card. 140k points can’t let this offer pass by.

Is this card a part of 5/24?

Reply

Don't forget to mention that IHG points are worth .5 – .8 cents a piece, however still a great sign up bonus! Just not really good to put your spend on anything other than IHG. Would have gotten this card have I not just gone over 5/24 recently.

Are these best used internationally I take it? Just browsing cities in the US, this 140k offer doesn't seem as huge as it looks like. I'm seeing 50k a night for ~$120 room/night rooms which comes out to $336, minus the $89 annual fee. Not exactly the most amazing deal on the planet…

I am glad that I got this card earlier. I feel that the 125k deal last summer was better. You get 4x points instead of 1x on your 3k spend. The 2x categories are bad value as other cards give better value on those catagories. I would only use this on catagories that other cards don't target such as insurance. So, it is really only 6k extra points. They were also giving a 50.00 statement credit. If I wanted to buy points, I could get more than 6k points for 50.00, but I would rather have the cash. The 4x gives you the opportunity to accumulate more points.

If you get this card now and have a redemption for more, you are going to have to buy the extra points as that is the most efficient way of accumulation points after the sign up bonus. At least they have a 75% bonus going on right now for buying points to combine with this offer. Even though the number is higher, I wouldn't consider this a historic offer. I would give that to last summer's 125k + 9k + 50.00.

I got a Discover It Secured Credit Card back in November. Going to be paying my 2nd bill next week. Should I just keep using this one for the next 4 months or should I also get the Capital One Platinum Card (The Credit Shifu said he got that one when he started building his credit, not the secured version) and use both of them together?

for all friends in here that are fans of Las Vegas, The Venetian is part of Intercontinental Hotel collection through IHG, did a little math and the 140,000 sign up bonus points can get up to 2 free nights in standard rooms at the Venetian, and with the 25X rewards…you could be earning a free night after you pay you hotel bill for the other nights you don't use your bonus points on…for $89 a year with an anniversary night, the card pays itself off…as much as we love Starwood/Marriott Hotels…have to give the nod to IHG on the generous reward program as well…

The limited time offer end on April 2, 2020. Do you think this a must have card? I'm 3/24 and considering it? Currently have the CSP & CIP. Also given the events going on now do you think this offer will come back around?

Just a FYI. I received my replacement IHG Premier MasterCard charge
plate today and it is PLASTIC. Called Chase customer service and
confirmed IHG pulled the metal version. I am keeping my old card as
souvenir.
