I've never seen you, sebby, or anyone else do a fully maximized fee free cashback setup for "fire retirement" savers.

For cash back I enjoy the Costco Citi card. 2% on Costco spend (with executive membership you get 2% on all Costco spending so really 4%). Plus 4% on Costco Gas.

This is very confusing you should do a video for each strategy that goes in depth

What transition music did you use? What’s it called? I like it :). I tried to Shazam it but it doesn’t pull up anything.

I am also a quantity kind of person. I recently got the Capital One Venture card and I couldn’t be happier with it. Racking up points like a boss just paying regular bills with it and paying it off at the end of the month in full so no interest payment is tagged on.

As always great content! I appreciate your knowledge and your willingness to share it. Thank you.

Lol, @ his face when saying “cash back” then it lights up when talking about the “quality” strategy. I honestly only travel like every other year, or years can go by without me taking a trip anywhere. And when i do, I don’t necessarily need “first class luxury air travel”. I also don’t stay at mainstream hotels, usually a specific reason why I choose one. I’m not one of those who take pics around the globe pretending to have some dream life. I see so many people traveling “just to travel”. There’s only about a handful of places I really want to go.

For that reason, I absolutely prefer cash back. So much talk about travel cards, but between the confusing points system(do they expire?) the “meh” perks like lounges and general lack of interest, it’s not for me.

That system feels like I’m constricted to dates, times and places and it’s just not how I do things.

Why do cash back cards have to be no-fee cards? For example, with the AMEX BCP, even with the $95 annual fee, I know I will hit the $6K on grocery per year, so the math says, 6% net after fee, it's still more cash back than the 3% "everyday" version.

Then there is the quality quantity strategy. That's where you do a lot of home work learning how to leverage maximum rewards across a few tier 3 and 4 cards where rewards can overlap. Mostly transferable points cards, though some dedicated co-branded cards can fit into this strategy. With a little effort to keep track of where the best return on spending is to be had, it's not too difficult to rack up enough points for a couple of nice getaways every year; though some flexibility in timing and/or destination maybe necessary if you want to get the best experiences. It does take a good bit of time investment every week to pull this off. I do my research whenever i have a few minutes to kill instead of social media surfing or gaming. That way my actual off work time can be used for other things (like watching You Tube and playing MMO's ☺). It's amazing how much can be learned a few minutes at a time over the course of a day

I'm in the quantity boat. Luxury is great but economy actually saves me money on trips I'm already taking vs spending money on trips I wasn't otherwise taking.

It''ll be interesting to watch the change with United (and everyone else) moving to a "frequent payer" model. Dynamic pricing/fixed value miles might make airline miles more like card points – although it's certainly a devaluation 🧐

great info, tnx! pls help me out, is it practical (based on our normal expenses) to get an amex gold for the 4x supermarket and the csp and cfu for a beginner family trying to rack up points for travel? or not a gud idea since our point accruals will be split between chase and amex?

Yes.. I'd like to see in depth videos about all of the above. Cashback, travel, hotels etc.. I haven't seen a video that goes on the in depth technical side on how to actually book flights with points for example. I have no clue how to do that.. cashback for example is pretty self explanatory and doesnt require really any extra effort on our part. Travel and hotels not so much.. I'd like to be educated on that part.

I would also like to see a video on cards to get for cashback on gas. I drive ALOT for my buisness so the ducks unlimited 5% cashback on gas REALLY appealed to me when I did the math on how much I spend a year on gas. Like fir example what tier is the ducks unlimited anyway? And what about other cards that offer similar perks for gas? Plus I'd max out my credit line probably if I got that card considering how much I spend on gas. (Which would hurt my score). Everybody talks about travel cards but not really alot for just driving. I'd like to see a video on that.

Cash back for me but it all goes into low-cost index funds. I like the idea of the travel methods but that would just cause us to spend money we wouldn’t normally spend.
