I'd downgrade the card to a freedom no matter what they add with a fee rise.

How long before the CSP goes to $150 to match the Green Card?

Ugggh, its fine the way it is. I don't want "dining credits" like AMEX. I don't see this a "benefit." Change for the sake of change does not make it more valuable.

Hi Credit Shifu, I enjoy your show. I really learn a lot. Off topic, did you know that the Apple Card don’t report to the credit bureaus. I just find that out.

Give me three times for groceries and/or gas, or increase multipliers to 4x and I’ll pay $550 instead of $450.

Will they grandfather the pre existing 450 annual fee to current cardholders though ?

Chase why? What are you doing? We like you the way you are because you’re NOT Amex..so stop trying to be Amex! Smh I mean, if this is true there better be some serious justification for hiking up to $550 otherwise it’s just ridiculous…if it’s not broken, leave it alone! 😡

Just wanted to say that I work for chase and while any of this is possible, none of our systems show anything like this nor has there been any talk (usually they talk about products before they change them). But anything is possible!

What are the details of the dining credit? It would be nice to see more information about that, and any other benefit changes.

Everything better be 5x points on every purchase, $400 travel reimbursement, their own lounge, etc etc

I have a feeling that if the CSR goes up, then CIP applications are going to increase. Hopefully that fee doesn't end up going up as well!

I currently plan on upgrading my CSP to the CSR at the begging of the year, but if the CSR goes to $550 I will be downgrading for sure

Not worth $550 AF for the dining credit. If Chase add 5x travel, 4x dining and Groceries 3x Gas then it's worth the $550 AF otherwise it's not worth it.

This appears to be a way to get people to choose between the Amex Platinum and the Sapphire Reserve. Given that the Platinum will most likely see a fee hike in the next 12 months, it only makes sense for the Sapphire Reserve to increase their annual fee. I believe that people who now hold both cards will be more likely to choose one or the other and to maximize the benefits. BTW love your content.

If that’s the case, then Chase needs to up the points from 3x to 5x

So I opened my CSP account on 12/2/2018. I have been eagerly waiting to product change to the CSR. When should I call chase for this product change?

I wouldn't mind an AF increase because I don't even pay for it. Active duty benefits haha! But still that's too much with the amount of benefits

The problem with ever bigger annual fees offset by credits (even if easy to use, which in the case of Amex is often not true) is it's ever more spending on which you don't earn points. Bigger multipliers would add actual value, but I think at this point the card issuers are mostly against adding real value in return for annual fees. If the Amex Platinum had value for its $550 annual fee comparable to the Wells Fargo Propel it would be an amazing card.

I called CSR yesterday and the annual fee is set at $450.00 with the $300.00 travel credit for 2020. No bonus points however for year 2 for me 🙁
