Credit Shifu, why didn’t you explain how much of a “PAIN IN THE ASS” it is to file a claim ?

Step 1: You have to has purchased your phone with the card

Step 2: enroll to pay your cellular service with this card for more than 6-12 months

Step 3: retain you original receipts that shows your purchased your phone from an authorized retailer

Step4: show proof that you have paid your wireless bill with that specific card.

Step 5: get an appraisal “ FORM” from an authorized repair facility ( Apple / Samsung)

Step 6: Call or upload or mail : all your documents ( receipt , monthly bills, appraisal , warranty information AND picture of your phone ) somehow you have to significant other take a pic and print out or upload that. You’ll figure it out.

Step 7: wait for a confirmation email indicating what you did not provide.

Step 8: wait for the insurance claim to approved or denied ….

Step 9: SOME will require you to send in your old phone BEFORE you receive payment. And also they will only give you money what it is VALUED AT , not what you paid for at that time !!!!!

Step 10: they will take the deductible from the claim.

Just in case you are not wondering how long will this take ?? Just start the process and forget about it !!!!!! 10-12 weeks AVERAGE !!!!!

Anyways good luck !!!
Oh good video, it’s just not complete 🤨

I put my cell phone bill on the u.s. bank Cash Plus card for the 5% cash back. Unfortunately that card doesn't offer cell phone protection. Of course my phone broke a few months after switching from my Mastercard lol

You don't mention actual rate. My Chase Ink preferred is 3x on cell phone so every month I get 350 UR points.. plus the protection.

I have Wells Fargo Cash Wise. No annual free, up to 600 per claim, 1200 a year, 25 dollar deductible. As you said, a lot of them do.

Nice video. New to the credit card game. I am confused about having a zero balance at the end of the month or pay a little interest. I see some yt videos where people say is good to pay little interest, so that credit cards give you more credit in the future. Is that true?

Bank of America card has been weird because the card is not detected on the Mastercard website as an eligible card. Anyone who had luck with it?

As far as I am aware. Every World and World Elite Mastercard has the cell phone protection.

Its $600 a year for the World and $800 for the World Elite.

That said I still use my uber visa since its $600 twice a year.

It looks like no generally available card offers both cell phone insurance and greater than 1x earnings on cell phone bills. There are probably some geofenced cards that do.

I really liked this and would love to see more category comparisons, ie best cards for: cell phone bill, best cards for gym memberships, for gas, for groceries, etc, etc.

If I have cosmetic damage, can’t I just damage it even more so that it can have internal damage, so that it could then be covered? Or how would that work?

I don't understand how cards without an annual fee can offer cell phone insurance. It's like getting Applecare for free.

Is there a requirement for the cell phone protection, like a certain monthly spending amount. To clarify, is this separate from purchase protection insurance and lasts indefinitely. Do you need to buy the phone on the card.

Lastly, is there any credit cards within the UK (not the US) that offer this perk (I'd assume they'd be a lot less favourable and have hefty annual fees).

What about Chase Ink Cash Business credit card? CIP gives 3X for phone purchase but CIC gives 5X UR points for a monthly phone plan. CIP would be more rewarding if you bought your phone in one lump sum purchase. CIC would be more rewarding if you bought your phone from your phone plan provider and incremental payments each month for a phone. Maybe you can have a video comparing CIP and CIC phone protection benefits.

Speaking of cell phones, the freedom card gives 5x back on cellphone services next quarter (2020). I have Verizon and I’m making payments on it with my plan. If I pay it off, will I get 5x back!? Anyone know?
