Chase just product changed me from the Freedom to the Freedom Unlimited, without asking me. I am wondering if this is because I have two Freedom cards? Although there is no official One Freedom rule like the One Sapphire rule.

Still have my Freedom. No changes.
If you can only have 1 Freedom card it makes the unlimited worthless unless you really really want 1.5% cash back since the Freedom flex does everything plus 5% categories.
still have my og freedom…. so far
Just checked – still have my OG freedom as of right now… I have one freedom, one freedom flex, and one freedom unlimited
I have all 3 but none of mine changed 🤔
Looks like they picked on the one. Chase careful who you pick on 🙂
Just checked and I’m still good. I do not currently have the CFF just the CFU, [OG]CF and the CSP. I’ve been thinking about apply for the CFF to get the easy SUB now that I really have all the chase cards I need/want for the long term. Thanks for the notice!
I know its not a credit card or USA but id love to know what you think to the new Chase UK Bank acc with cash back. as i know you have family i the uK
I’m seeing this DP on the myfico forums too. So it’s happening to others as well
Is that even legal to force product change without reading the disclosures, without confirmation and without advanced notice? Sounds Wells Fargo-y…
The flex you cant use it at Costco
Just checked my account and I still have the og Freedom.
I hope that’s not what’s up – I have CSP and CFU and just applied for CFF the other day. I was kinda surprised it wasn’t an immediate approval actually.
Banks are so shady doing things without notifying you.
Chase closed one account at beginning of oandemic without notification
This would be a problem, I have 5 CF between myself and p2.
still have old freedom, unlimited and flex
It's really cool how you have cameras set up in your house at all times to catch these events, just incase!!! 🙂
same thing happened to me and I also phoned them up. I had the Freedom Student card which was supposed to earn me $20 each anniversary year for 5 years (not a lot, but don't need the unlimited because I have the flex). I did not get any notice of the product change but the woman insists that they definitely would notified me… huh?
Like for the metal gear sound
Hopefully I can still downgrade a Sapphire Preferred to an OG Freedom if/when it stops making sense.
I have all the heavy hitter annual fee cards but I'm exempt from every single annual fee due to being active duty military. When I get out in 2023 the first thing I'm going to do is cancel all my cards with annual fees. Too much to keep track of.
I find I can't be bothered to keep track of and use all the little monthly bonuses and don't use most of them (sans Centurion lounge)
Chase has done this in the past. I had some old products like their universal studios credit card as well as a Facebook credit card( got those in college). I had a freedom card too. They changed one card into another freedom at that time.
Probably cheaper to service current products than legacy products.
I have two freedoms, one freedom unlimited, and two freedom flexes and this has not happened to me.
I have two, the old and the new but no changes for me! Strange!
Still have my OG Freedom. Also have CFU and CSP. Maybe already having the CFU will prevent Chase from PCing me into another CFU?
Where can I learn about that 4% crypto card?
Is it a taxable event everytime you use the Coinbase debit (i.e. are you selling crypto to fund ?) Can you only spend out of usdc balance?
I have CSR, OG CF, and CFU and it looks like nothing's been changed on my end thankfully. That's definitely weird, it's a good thing they let you change it back!
Oh this happened to me too, and I noticed the 5.5% earn rate as well on my last few walmart purchases. Glad to know it wasn't just me. Oh, and I only have the one Chase Freedom card. That's it, nothing else with Chase.
I think starting a one freedom rule would be a bad business move Shifu. The cards have different purposes, which is why people should have both. Making people only have one would just drive them to another issuer.
What if you have Freedom, Flex and the FU. One each.
Just checked my account and they DID NOT do the same thing to me (luckily). I'm going to be keeping an eye out if they try to pull that move. NOT ON MY WATCH! I want to keep my double 5% bonus limit and flex on the new freedom cardholders who didn't get the OG freedom haha 😀
I had an OG free United Card that was Converted to the Gateway Card. Although this was technically an upgrade I was mad there was no notice about it.
I have the og one and two freedom unlimited I hope they don’t change it into another one
I got scared I had to go check to make sure I had my old Freedom card still. Luckily everything is still the same on my end lol
Data point: I have an old Freedom and an Unlimited and both remain untouched. Very interesting and sneaky move by Chase IMO.
They upgraded my student freedom to the freedom unlimited after I got the freedom flex. I called to let them know I was unhappy with this but they said nothing could be done.
I would close card immediately!
Tell Jamie to leave us alone!!
I still have mine if it counts! Also have a flex and unlimited already
This video inspired me to apply for the freedom flex… thank you Shifu!
Must be an intern at the bank, ya know, benefit of the doubt
Perhaps Chase should upgrade to a more experienced banker, just saying
