💳Venture X review: https://www.asksebby.com/credit-cards/capital-one-venture-x
This card, and it’s perks, does not justify the $10K minimum spend. It doesn’t make any sense- for the majority at least. And I just don’t see this card being more competitive than the platinum card or CSR. Hard pass Capitol one.
What about xfer to Wyndham then to caesars rewards and cash out at .01 – max 30K points year – So xfer 25K that would be 30K value of .012
I think all they need is a domestic travel partner
Yep 10k is a little much for me…I’m more around 6k….
😜 thanks
I like the current offer, but this card doesn't make sense for me
Does anyone know if you can stack the credits or if they expire if you don’t use them before year’s end? I’d love to use them next year for a trip I’ve already booked my yearly trip and won’t be able to use it this year
I really wished they would extend it to the end of June. I have a 2 4K purchases I have to make in June and Early December. If I get it now I probably could only hit 7k under my regular spend. (College Student)
6:37 – That guy using/not using a computer. 😁
Sebby, I have over 3Million in points between AMEX, CITI and CHASE. I could use some advice on how I can make the most of my points. I have some ideas. Thanks to you and the man formally known as Credit Shifu, May he Rest In Peace, I have obtained the 3 cards I have and acquired the points over 4 years. Truthfully, I got the CITI prestige back in 17 but didn’t start blowing up the spending till 18. I’m going to get the C1VX before the 14th. How would you rank the points from the 4 banks? Is one better than the other?🤔 anyway, Hope to hear from you.
And just FYI, I spent 550k in my first calendar year with Amex platinum and all they gave me was additional guests for free to enter the centurion lounge. And yes I paid the full balance every single month. I was never late and I paid it on the same day of every month. This will be my second year with them so I’ll see what they do after 2 years.
Capital one needs to be aggressive in building their lounges in airports. I feel like that would make them top bitch lol
used your link and got approved for Venture X. Can you make a video about how will you use the $300 credit for the travel portal. I am going to San Franciso in September. Any suggestion about where should I stay?
my favorite next billionaire investor / youtube reviewer
Don't know about putting Zion on a list…. the only thing he should be on is a diet.
For capital one to compete I’d like to see;
1) expanded lounge locations
2) expanded travel protections
3) Savor X (a version of Savor that earns miles vs cash back, with perhaps cell phone protection)
4) expanded partner list
I love the NBA draft with NFL draft music
I just want to add something that students pay tuition, which is an insane amount of one-time purchase. There will be service fee if you pay by credit card, but often way less than intro bonuses.
Hot tip for anyone that owes taxes this year, you can make a payment to the IRS for a 1.87% fee, but you get 2% back anyway! I personally cant spend 10k in 6 months but I owe a little over 5k from some stock gains this year so that's making it possible for me.
Sitting on the sidelines and sticking with Sapphire Reserve although my son has an internship with Cap One this Summer so my allegiance may change.
Excellent video as always! I’m a Chase man myself, but Capital One is becoming more enticing as time progresses. Great work!
If you're only willing to pay $1000 for that $22,000 flight, then the flight isn't worth $22,000. It's worth $1k to you. It might be worth more to other people but that's kinda useless for you since you can't resell your tickets to them.
Can I get a refer-a-friend bonus and a sign up bonus? My friend wants me to use their link for the Marriott Bonvoy Bold card, but I am not sure which bonus is better or if I can get both bonuses. 😵💫
Establish a payment network, underwrite insurance perks, improve customer service…
Basically, nothing they can do. They’re a joke. Literally.
Hi Sebby,
For folks starting out in their credit card journey. Should we jump on this VentureX intro offer or still start with Chase because of the 5/24? If your spend is enough.
I would be interested to know how much of this credit card usage is due to people returning to carrying balances as opposed to just funneling a larger portion of their spending through credit cards as a tool. I don't think I am alone in having shifted more of my purchases to online merchants in the last few years. Credit cards are more secure than debit cards when making online purchases.
On the other hand, I know that may be wishful thinking. I took just enough economics courses years ago to realize that people tend to spend based on what they think their income is going to be, not what it currently is. Even if there is no rational justification for that income projection.
This is crazy I never realized how much people like to travel, now I'm wondering if there is anything for us that don't
Capital One needs to chill with that triple credit bureau pull. That's ridiculous, in my opinion.
Capital one is trash. They close accounts for no reason just to take away your points. Awful company.
Ayyy class of 2020 here
I visited the DFW capital one lounge and it looks like it’s also an Admiral club? Probably a great strategy if that’s the case let the airlines to shoulder some of the cost and able to expand fast.
