Thought it was already going to be able to pay things internationally already after updates to Apple pay in 2017. When I did a search just a few days ago, seems like they took a few steps back as not many stores accept apple pay. Tap to pay might be doi9ng better, although not much. Though people might use apple pay to do online shopping

If I get to a merchant one day and can't pay because I don't have an Apple ID or an iPhone or an Apple card I'm gonna be pissed 😤 good for them though…

Apple should buy Rakuten and provide extra insurance options on specific purchases that benefit the consumer. Ben, if you need auto, business, or home insurance my best friend sells for Clay and Land Insurance and he should be able to quote you better coverage at lower rates. The company is one of the largest independent insurers in America and can write policies in New Jersey!

Apple should just acquire Stripe. It’s by far their biggest partner, and largest competition they’d be attempting to encroach on.

Stripe is the main reason Apple Pay is as successful as it is today, and now the upcoming Tap to Pay with iOS devices.

Square if anything would just be destroyed if Apple takes over the POS churn from previous Square customers..

I wonder how many metal cards you need in a wallet for it to be bulletproof

I work in a store and the Apple card doesn't require the signature which makes the process much faster. Insert and approved 👍

Apple has already implemented new plans to enter the credit card processing. With the latest iOS 15.4 update released a few weeks ago, they added tap to pay support. This allows an iPhone to become a credit card terminal and will accept any credit/debit card or digital wallet using contactless NFC technology. This means merchants can start accepting payments using an iPhone, with no separate hardware required.

Apple doesn’t intentionally leak things, but Mark Gurman has a long history of really good sources inside Apple. Probably the best Apple sources of any English speaking media member which why Bloomberg hired him almost straight out of college.

Apple needs to allow Apple Pay to work on the iPhone using the NDF (or whatever it’s called.. I think I’m confusing my work with what the wireless technology is called… anyways) using the wireless feature used for tap to pay but you place a card near the phone and it charges it. This way merchants don’t need to swipe cards and can just pull up their phone and tap to pay off your card

Apple wants to be a Top Leader in this area; then charge 1% for P2P payment.. That’ll legitimately make them the leader in NO TIME
