On this week’s show we talk about how one of Sin City’s many strip clubs is about to start taking bitcoin. Plus it was a very busy weekend for entertainment in Vegas including the first ever full event at Allegiant Stadium. Unfortunately the “commute” for fans was frustrating at best.
We also talk about how the Crockfords rooms look a bit different compared to the Resorts World website. Are they going to be worth the money? Plus we discuss the quirks of Detroit’s casinos, where high speed rail is setting up in Vegas, beer pong is back and NYNY restaurants have reversed course on their ridiculous “process” fee.

These fees are just a sign of the times. This way they don't have to change their prices on the menu to cover these alleged costs. It's the same as the resort fees and parking fees at the hotels. They want to keep their spot on the search engines when people search by price. Back in 2018 when I stayed at Main Street Station, I thankfully avoided said fees, but I did find it laughable that they would charge a resort fee when they have no resort facilities. Even the front desk employee didn't look convinced when she said I was welcome to use the pool over at the Cal. (Which is tiny and pointless.) It's just madness.
Shawn, you were in Traverse City and didn’t call me. I’m hurt.

Great point about the pedestrian bridges. For some reason, decision makers don't seem to take them seriously. Funny story, I once proposed pedestrian bridges as a safety method for my college football stadium for a class I was taking. I got a C- on the project, and was basically laughed at and told they weren't needed relative to the cost. They broke ground on the pedestrian bridges to the football stadium, this summer at my former school, 9 years later……lol some people just fkn cannot see the big picture. Also, that's a hell of a lot of money for dealers at Resorts World who don't even deal authentic blackjack. $300 a day? That's INSANE MONEY. Every single one of those tables is unplayable 6/5 blackjack with a continuous shuffle machine. They are lucky to get ANYTHING from players who shouldn't even be playing those tables AT ALL. Ever. It's FAKE blackjack! Unreal. Defintely NOT a "great casino" Mark! I hope you're not playing that garbage! One last thing, I can hardly hear you guys in this video and I got the volume maxed out of every device.
Clark County and Las Vegans really don't have a lot of experience with 50K plus crowds dispersing all at once in a small area because there hasn't been an NFL or MLB team in town.
T-Mobile crowds are only 20K and many people break off quickly into nearby hotels, restaurants and bars.
Conventions don't have crowds that leave all at once.
UNLV football never gets big crowds.
The National Finals Rodeo is less than 20K at UNLV.
The NASCAR races have big crowds that disperse at once but its not near a congested metro area.
Plus, because of the record-tieing heat of 117F there were reports that some stadium and traffic staff were leaving their post for medical attention because of the heat so some pedestrian/vehicle traffic control likely broke down in some areas. Clark County and the stadium have already said there will be more water stations and shade for the hotter months along with other improvements.
Hopefully the Crockfords rooms at Resorts World will be much better than the photos. I plan to stay at one of those rooms this fall when I'm in town and I expect the room to be top notch for the price I'm paying.
Thank you to our hosts Shawn and Mark. That’s the news I’ve been waiting for Bitcoin and can’t wait for my fist lap dance.
Hi there what is the rumors about the car break-ins at resort world in their parking garage?
Still holding out hope for more non-smoking areas in LV casinos. COVID would have been the perfect excuse to do it. Oh well. Thanks for the info guys.
Good variety of topics as always!!! Any idea of when USA is going to open up and let international travellers back in?? Missing all of what Vegas has to offer and can’t wait to get back!!🇬🇧
I got up to the top of RW and I took a peek in a room under construction and it was definitely nothing special. But I feel I’d so much rather stay at Palazzo or Encore cause it’s a nicer room and it’s much bigger being a suite but I feel that Delano is the best base room in Vegas! Your podcast is definitely my #1 podcast! Keep up the great work Shawn and Mark!
Thumbs up – We have to turn the volume up to 100% / full blast to barely hear you on all our devices.
As someone who snaked through Mandalay May and Delano, only to walk in 117 degree weather and pay an extra $20 to check the wife's purse, it was BRUTAL. Older women were falling out left and right with no shade. It was unreal to watch. Where's Elon with an express tunnel? The stadium was beautiful, but the pre and post event madness was ridiculous. Watching women throw their purses in the trash cans was a sight though.
Wynn & Encore slaps . RW has a good casino. That’s it
Great show as usual. But with all of the Covid news coming out of Las Vegas in the last 48 hours it already seems slightly dated. 🙁 We need an MTM Vegas Breaking News Show. ;p
My friend Mike E stayed at Crockfords in the 2 queen standard room. It is as mediocre as that picture. (fyi, Crocsfords is an inside joke)
Like number 100 Yahoo!!! Would it be possible to put a date on our listens ur chats so I know how far behind I am another nice vid thanks for info. What do you Brohiems think about the WSOP moving to BallysParis for 2022??
Yes can’t wait until our borders open. It’s been way to long. 🇨🇦🇺🇸
A tram from the stadium to… Mandalay Bay makes sense. Great for the resort and then people can get on the tram from there to points north. Tram to Luxor works also…they have a moving walkway to get from there. Imagine all those people funneling into a Casino rather than walking on the Strip.
Go easy on the Stadium look no further than the Convention Center and their inability to deal with mass transit. The plan was to have the monorail move the people. It's very capable. The Brightline station will be dumping hundreds every train. Build the Monorail to the stadium 🏟 and airport. Vegas is changing and the Convention Center has failed Vegas. Bigger European Stadiums don't even have parking lots.
My guess (and it’s only an opinion, Mr. Beiber’s lawyers, not a statement of fact), is that it wasn’t adrenaline he was hopped up on. 🙂
CVS receipts are the worst. I once had one over 4 feet long: I held it from one end and let the other end hit the floor, it was chest-level. At least I made the cashier laugh. 😂
Resorts World is in a world of hurt, much of it self-inflicted. They have a nice casino and pools, but so what! You can get nicer rooms at a lower price, with equal or better pools, retail and dining, and a better Strip location at Wynn/Encore or Venetian/Palazzo. RW must be praying that convention business recovers quickly.
Smoking rooms for employees used to be indoors just to keep staff near their assigned work areas, especially the dealers. There was a lot of employee complaints at the property I used to work at years ago when the smoking section was moved outdoors near the employee entrance. I had staff I had to reprimand for being late coming back from their 15-minute breaks complaining it took them 5 minutes to walk to the smoking area, and another 5 minutes back. I told them to smoke faster. 😅😂🤣
They need to get that parking situation under control, what a joke. Should have put a 6 story parking garage, there was room for it.
Wow….was at the Grand Traverse Hotel in late 80's, took the puddle jumper in mid fall<~~~unbelievable color….nice relaxing town!
The Allegiant Exodus is pretty much Disneyland after the fireworks and Fantasmic. You gotta wait like 5 trams to get back to Mickey & Friends.
With strip clubs being dark and people being drunk I imagine people will make mistakes with their tips.
They did make that Harmon/valley view overpass which has helped a lot.
Went to osheas on st. Patrick’s day once and they were playing rap.
Shawn were you a lifeguard? But yes the smokers lounge you opened the door and one huge cloud.
Covid variants coming back and mask m as ndate hits palazzo and Venetian today. Hete we go again
What happen to ballys hotle & casino & we have a gold card for there & how mouch is parking there & witch good casino in reno nv
I remember working at H&M in the forum shops but going to the employee dining room at caesars palace. Never got caught. Fed me for a good 6 months 🤫🤫🤫
Actually I was at the first major event at Allegiant Stadium July 3rd for EDM Artist, Illenium. I exited the same way after the show as that tweet from the Garth Brooks show and yeah, its a snails pace leaving the North End exits. However , you get an incredible view of The Strip. For the show I went to, doors didn't open until 8 (show was around 9). The road north of Mandalay Bay was closed for foot traffic. Honestly, they need to open the doors sooner like another hour before because a huge line formed waiting to enter the stadium that went over the road going over the freeway. Attendance for the show was around 40k , nearly a sellout . There's plenty of room for improvement around the stadium so I'm optimistic .
There are two videos on YouTube that feature the standard crockfords room. The room is very underwhelming. Looks a lot like a Hyatt Regency room. Lol
Good info, but turn up the volume!
Like the head shot continuity. Mark use to look huge. ☺️☺️
Appreciate you guys updating the info from last week. Always like the videos and the comments. Openings are always tough and there will always be things that can be better. I’m sure we will get better as the property matures. Hopefully the feedback about the rooms will get to the powers above. Still feels like a great place to work. And I think it’s a welcome addition to the Vegas landscape.
The D started accepting Bitcoin for room payments a few years ago.
Good job with Frontier Air
Good show! That stadium situation is a mess.
Resorts world overall is a bust in my opinion. The casino is nice because it’s brand new. They also brought back the beer pong at bird bar in flamingo!
Guess you going to have to reserve that merchandise. One flat rate or is it by the hour. You cant stick it in the slot not on the spot. Do they charge overtime, that's a digital trail.
Bitcoin, one step closer to the end
Thanks guys
Unpopular opinion perhaps, but if customers decided to not tip at restaurants that charge BS fees…servers would quit immediately, those fees would disappear and never come back. I do get that it isn't the servers fault, but I assure you it would change the practice immediately.
I'd love to see an end to parking fees.
