Other than YouTube, what do you do ? Are you some sort of banker ?
I was convinced that my chase set up was going to be the reserve over the preferred but this is pretty attractive to me especially with the sign up bonus. But let’s say these rumors are true there are different benefits between preferred and reserve and I would think they should allow people to have both cards assuming the benefits are that different.
finally got out of the Chase 5/24 rule. Just got approved today for a CSP. Thanks for sharing this info
Hi Sebby, I own a Barclay's Arrival Plus card that I have been using these past few years and this year I redeemed my points to pay for half of my trip to Cancun. I was just approved for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card which I signed up for so that I can get those 100,000 bonus points. Do you recommend sticking with both cards to earn the most points for travel? Both my wife and I use the Barclay's Arrival card. It just seems to me like I can earn more points for every day things with the Barclay's Arrival Plus card. As you know Chase Sapphire Preferred only gives double points for travel and dining. We only travel about once a year out of the country and maybe three times within our home state. I'm trying to figure out if it'd better to use both, one for every day expenses and one for Travel and Dining only. What do you recommend. Thanks in advance.
Ugh, such worthless updates. The travel portal sucks so bad yet they keep trying to push everyone into it. Amex and citi keep having higher returns. My citi premier earns way more
I could pick up change on the sidewalk and earn more cash back per month than a streaming category 🙄
Hi Sebby, I have a quick question would like to ask, if I may? Will Chase count downgrade or upgrade card as one of 5/24?? thank you so much.
Can you use CSR for Aeromexico Airlines?
CSR annual fee is $450
If annual fee goes up, I’ll cancel my reserve.
Add these changes AND middle priority pass and I'd spend 250$ AP for CSP.
I will not pay for more than 1 high AF travel card. So choice between CSR and AMEX Platinum….I choose AMEX Platinum!! I have made use of all the credits from the AMEX Platinum so it works for me. While the CSR is easier to use, these new changes pushing me to the Chase travel portal (and not having extensive lounge access or other special relationships) says I can do without the CSR. I will downgrade to the CSP so I can still use Chase's transfer partners. Great video, Seb!!
Hey Sebby, when will you put out a video about the upcoming Chase airport lounges?
"The CSR is instagram, and the CSP is YouTube"
The more I think about it, the less sense it makes to me 😂
Just so people know Chase dining goes through Tock but for many restaurants, they only allow you to do reservations through there and if you pay at their restaurant, then you’ll only get 3x back. You need to do a prepaid reservation through Chase Dining (tock) to actually get 10x. I learned from experience.
Just our of curiosity, what's the rule to say if I get the CSP then how long would I need to wait to be able to upgrade to CSR?
Is the reserves travel insurance as good as it looks?
Keep this in mind too about Chase supermarkets vs. BoA cards – Target and Walmart are included in the supermarket package for BoA, and those cards have no fee. And, BoA's Travel Portal allows you to book competitively with Southwest and JetBlue. Chase's portal does not. Again, and I think Sebby makes an excellent point about this – if you're not big on the Chase Travel Portal due to pricing concerns, etc. the CSPs aren't a great value, even with the big welcome bonus and the upgrades. The CSP is one of those cards you hear about when you talk about the "2nd year fatigue", where the annual fee isn't really eaten up by the benefits and cardholders feel as if they have a dead card in their wallets.
Chase does not guarantee a downgrade option to the Freedom cards by the way, especially after year 1, even if you're a Chase customer for banking, investing, etc. So, it should not be assumed that you'll be able to downgrade after the first year (even if you apply in branch for the CSP and get the 1st year fee waived) that Chase will downgrade you at the start of the second year.
Or they could just lower the menu prices and I'd consider going into their establishments I still prefer the cheaper places. It's just-food. If they have to incentivize me to come in. Chances are I probably don't eat there for a reason. I prefer air BnB as hotels tend to tack on a lot of extra fees. Especially in destination places like vegas. No thanks.
