Got free year of instacart with the chase preferred a few months back
Love the blazer; reminds me of “Men’s in Black”~~
Now's not the time for new cards.
There isn't much savings because the prices via instacart is significantly higher than in store. So if you're picking up you mind add well go inside and buy the groceries yourself and pay with a freedom. Unless you are super lazy or unable to haul a lot of groceries. However, if you get the ocassional 50 to 75% discount from instacart then you will score especially on stuff from best buy, target.
instacart MARKS UP PRICES. I just use cashapp 5% grocery boost or i use coinbase 4% crypto back. I liquidate the crypto i recieve once a week. Sometimes the crypto has gone up a bit, sometimes it has gone down but on average, it comes out to be like 3.9% crypto back. In a bull market, it could be 4+% back
I shop for my groceries, so this would not be something that I would apply for. I would compare this card to getting a starbucks card, since I would never use the card there. Maybe buy a coffee at Mcdonald's once every few months to keep the card active lol. Some people I know would love the insta cart card since they would get benefit from it. I think it's a no for me since I pick what I want rather than relying on someone else to grab the smashed or moldy fruits or vegetables, or the person bagging the groceries to put the cold foods with the dry goods etc. No convenience fees. And faster for me to do it since I don't have to waste time online and then wait for someone to get around to picking my order and delivering if I really want to wait longer. I miss the advantages to using a service like insta cart over doing the grocery shopping myself. Would I save more money by using the insta cart card after all the convenience fees are figured in? There has to be at least one advantage to using the card. Am sure the 5/24 rule will apply to the card since Chase issues it.
It’s not really no annual fee after the first year since you have to pay the $99 membership to get value out of it.
I had such high hopes when I first signed up for Instacart delivery, but I tried it with 5 separate grocery orders and the shoppers just sucked. They substituted weird things, often much higher priced items, that I didn't want or said large amounts of my items were out of stock. On two separate occasions, after I got my Instacart delivery, I went to the grocery store myself because I really needed the items and easily found all the items that were missing or subbed. It's not worth it to pay a fee, an upcharge, and a tip if I'm just going to have to go to the grocery store myself to get the items I need anyway. I have free pickup orders at my local grocery store (they do a better job shopping too), so the pickup functionality is useless to me.
Did you hear about the $15 monthly Instacart credit for Chase sapphire reserve that starts today?
Instacart increases prices at Publix by 10% btw
I crush Instacart from Costco, they don't add a premium if you add your membership number. Saves me 90 minutes, and if you value your time correctly, it way more than pays for itself to sign up for plus, even after adding 10% or so for tip.
This card reminds me of the Amazon card for Instacart. If you already use the service and you aren’t worried about your 5/24 status, then this card could make sense! However, it’s not for me exactly. Even with that incredible cash back! Maybe I’ll change my mind down the line. Great breakdown Ben! I love the live examples you showed.
This isn’t worth a 5/24 slot imo🤷🏾♂️
Only issue is that instacart is more expensive than in the store imo
GM has an Unlimited 4% rewards on ALL spend card.
I just got an offer on Credit Karma for the GM Mastercard which boasts Unlimited 4% rewards on ALL Spend.
BUT it can only be applied as Statement Credit for your GM Bill.
So it's really only a 4% discount on your GM car if you only use this card
Instacart on average has a 15% mark up. Pile on every discount, do pick up, and on average you spend a few percent more to save a little time.
Do you appreciate me too :c
12.5% back but a 15-25% markup on items compared to if you were to shop urself at the store (on top of fees). Not worth it at all!
Thank you
Not what I need.
Dang. It’s already $100 instead of the $200 😕
Love you ben, you've been a great help in my credit card journey, and you'll always be Credit Shifu to me
Rakuten Cash Back Card being discontinued in September 🥲 Rip amex points with visa
Hi Ben @ Ben Hedges is there a way to pay credit card bills other than from the bank account directly or through cheques, any other way?
I’m real curious who uses this card and instacart?
