What about CC companies auto cancelling cards for you?
I will no longer get Barclay cards as they constantly change their offerings and downgrade perks of cards. I've never had a company other than them do it so often. I had this Uber card when it first came out and dropped it in 2019 when they made it less useful. I used to also have the Sallie Mae card that got 5% back on certain categories, but they downgraded that one soon after as well. Barclays seems to launch products as a bait and switch. Get users into their system and then change the terms soon after. The only other cards I own that have changed their perks quite a deal like Barclays are from Bank of America, but they have made my cards actually better instead of worse.
Hey, I beat Sebby to this topic! Neat! All joking aside, yeah, this card was doomed to fail. Early adopters were not getting it for Uber benefits, and once the card was gutted most people I know didn't use it. Also, I'm totally ok with duct taping passengers if they are as unstable as the people we've seen in recent online videos.
Hope the next uber card issuer isn't synchrony, maybe then they'll have a good product that doesn't change after a year
I don't believe you went over this but what is set to happen if you happen to have any Uber credit, will that mist likely go away and or be converted into some kind of points? Thanks and keep up the great content.
Maybe the people waving sticks at Seatac are just headed back to SFO? 😀
But my vote is to duct tape for sure :p
I have no problem with violent passengers being restrained with duck tape. Air crew needs to look out for the safety of everyone, not the comfort of someone who chooses to be violent. Yes, there may be a few unfortunate situations were a person is having a mental breakdown, but honestly, hospitals sometimes restrain people in those situations too as a means to prevent themselves from harming themselves.
Thanks Sebby. I personally got this letter earlier this week and I was wondering "when is Sebby gonna make a video about this?". I got the Uber card when it was 4x on Dining then sock drawered it after I had a bad experience with Uber. Somewhat glad to see it failing.
Also, I was wondering if you could make a video on Chase 5/24 for the medium/end game. I recently when through a gardening phase to get back under 5/24 and now I'm looking to make the most of my 5 cards. I got the CSP and the CFF but now I'm conflicted about what to do with my other 3 slots.
This card is going to join my sockdrawer league where it will be up for $1 Vending machine every 3 months.
I'm literally going to spend $4 a year ($1 every 3 months) to keep this card alive.
Goes to show that you shouldn’t get credit cards for every little thing. In case something like this happens.
Hey Sebby will I be able to still make a cell phone insurance claim this month with the uber card? Thanks!
Not sure what made me think of this, but have you done a video about VAT refund recommendations to use when traveling to the EU or your own personal experience? The past 2 times I've tried using them have been a mess getting them processed and ended up just having to fly back without processing them. Just curious to hear your thoughts on that. Obviously, a lot more relatable once there's more EU flying taking place with minimal covid risk
Just wondering, as a $95 annual fee card. The diner's club premier card has some pretty unique benefits . Can you do a video on it?
I think sebby is being help by the credit card companies and they only unduck tape him when he does a review..
I get more value from Uber with AMEX!! Who needs a seperate card!!
Flight Attendants: If you don't act stupid, you won't get restrained! Let's remember if the FA has to restrain you, they will use any means necessary. Now apparently the airlines want to tie the FA's hands and not restrain passengers. Either way, the plane should divert and land so that passenger can be arrested and removed. It's s federal offense to interfere with flight crew!
these videos are so long
I really enjoyed the 4x back on dining. One of my fav cards because of it! Until… the nerf.
Afterwards, I hated it since I basically never used Uber so the idea of "Uber Cash" just was a huge L, so never used it again.
Now, I have other 3x dinning cards so this change is not appealing much at all but I'll keep it since it does help with my credit history. Pretty disappointing overall how this card came and went honestly.
Why the duck tape 😂
Uber is going downhill. The pandemic certainly made it worse for them but most of the damage has been from their garbage business model.
Legitimate question: I added you on IG and ended up getting a bunch of people DMing me asking me if I was your friend and part of your inner circle…. Do you have a cult? like, a travel cult or something?

Rumors are that Tesla is coming out with a card…a charge card….I’ll be here all night folks.
Hey Sebby, I’m new and just stumbled upon your channel, I’m a recent college grad and on my 3rd week of my new job and looking to get a credit card and wondering what recommendations there might be? I have 700+ credit score from each agency this is new to me and I’m looking for some guidance. Thanks man! Love the channel
Please do an update on YOTTA odds…:)
has foreign transaction fees :/ I added my wife as an authorized user for this and actually got use on it. Can this card be changed to another barclays card as the same account for credit score? I do like the 3 percent dining but wish it had no foreign transaction fees.
Uber Card is one of my longest history card… Ugh. RIP.
Now 13 American Marines🇺🇸 Dead, murdered by Joe Biden🇮🇷 and his gang of Democrats🇮🇷. We still have countless Americans and Afghans who helped USA unaccounted for all over Afghanistan , many are women, PLUS, Lets not forget Biden team left 85 billion of Weapons for Taliban, ISIS and Al Qaida, putting all American families in mortal danger. If you voted for these people, please apologize. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅
The card sits unused in a drawer. Had it for the Cash back, stopped using it. Now use my Amex gold for all dining.
Does CSR offer any retention offers if I call and ask ? My renewal fee just posted
I’m pissed about that. I was able to raise my credit up to over $8000 on this card. I actually really liked the benefits like earning uber cash etc. but I don’t live in the US anymore and it sucks because they will have a foreign transaction fee now on the new card. Now I’m stuck over $200 in uber cash since I can’t use it outside the US and it seems I won’t have uber cash anymore due to the change.
Us bank cash+ allows you to choose two 5% back categories every quarter and one of them is transportation which includes Uber, Lyft and public transportation.
