When Can We Travel Again? | Will We Ever Get Back to “Normal”? – Trip Astute

by YouTube Team

Many people are asking, “when is it safe to travel again?” It’s a good question, and one that will likely depend on certain indicators. In this video, I share my thoughts on what needs to happen before we can start traveling again, and how travel may be different after the pandemic.

this is all very funny … I am stuck in Thailand at the moment, had already a 30 days VISA extension, this is valid until Mai 1st now, but it does not look like they open the airports so soon again. I can get another 30 days, which will make in all 90 days, and after that?

I have to travel for work. I got accepted in a school in Myanmar and I need to travel to Bangkok to obtain a Visa. I booked my flight on April 23rd but it got canceled.

I think what airlines otta do is only have a fewer people board a flight sitting 6 feet away from one another so it wouldn’t be any problem if it’s a idea or some sort

Keeping my fingers crossed, but I doubt international travel will resume this year. We actually have a medeterenean cruise by October and hoping it goes through but again it's not looking good.

Daughter, husband and I have a US trip (from Australia) booked for December-January. Booked well before the current situation. We’ve decided to wait and see. I feel for all those whose travel plans have been affected. I’m going to stay hopeful for us seasoned travellers.

This video was very informative. You covered every area that needs to be taken care of before we can even plan traveling. I will share this video with my friends on Facebook. But it saddens me that many people aren’t thinking realistically about this.

I haven’t booked a flight yet, but I had my vacation approved 8 months prior 😔 I’m supposed to meet my girlfriend in Hong Kong, towards the end of September 2020, spend a week there and on to visit her family in the Philippines.. but it seems this Covid-19 will linger much longer, but at least maybe I can just meet her in Hong Kong, since they have better control of the situation.. stay there and come back home and get quarantined for 14 days lol..

I'm an outlier. I'm not worried at all. I'm ready to get back to international travel as soon as the airlines open back up.

As soon as things open and I am allowed to get on a plane and my countries of interest have opened their borders, I’m off to my next destination. Travel is very important to the kind of work and research I’m involved in.

Very informative. I do see that there is going to be more people that are willing to travel domestically before international travel even if there's going to be flareups. I hope people will want to do nature inspired trips like national parks or visit small towns before flocking to big cities which got hit the hardest by this pandemic.

I would not be travelling for 2 years or so. But thereafter, if everything is fine, that I may, provided there are no quarantines.

Cautiously optimistic outlook: Limited road tripping summer 2020, this ends in the fall with a second wave of the virus. By spring 2021, treatments open up domestic road, rail, and air travel, but it's still limited. This grows through to the end of 2021, when a vaccine becomes available. By mid-2022 life is mostly back to normal and international travel becomes possible.

I'm so scared since my children are too small and cant wear mask for 23 hrs flights. I can't sleep at night fear of my two children will couching the virus on our way to US . 🙏

I live in a country where the virus is currently well under control, but borders are still closed and I was planning on visiting my old sick father living on the other side of the globe already well before this virus emerged. It's been well over a year since I last saw him and I miss him very much and he's currently all alone and I don't know how much time he has left… The country he lives in has very few cases but they're still not letting in foreigners so I was just hoping to get some information on whether planning a trip there even at the end of the year in November would be possible, but I can't find any information on that. This crisis is so frustrating.

Thank you for your observations. I live in Poland and make yearly trips to the States to visit family and friends. I made my last trip in Nov-Dec 2019. I was hoping to move my trip up, to avoid the possible fall/winter expected surge of the virus. But now I do not know if it is reasonable to even plan a trip this year.

I hope after this nightmare you can visit Cusco Peru because tour guides in Cusco are self-employed, This pandemic kill our job more than pandemic assassinate people, thanks to Pachamama the Covid 19 is week at the altitud located at 11,152 feet (3,399 meters) because of the lack of oxygen and dry weather plus the sun exposition means Covid 19 needs to drink Our Coca Tea to no suffer altitude sickness, I guess by this time I am glad to be an INCA , as I say we don't have Covid¨19 but bordes are close and coast and rainforest suffering with the pandemic but the tour guides we fuck … I wait for you in 2021 in my home the INCA LAND free of any nasty disease… or when the bright people give the world the precious vaccine…

I'm currently in The Bahamas, one of the few countries open to Americans, and I tell you things are very different. A negative COVID19 test is required for entry, almost all restaurants, shops, casinos, tours, and expeditions are closed, there's a 10 pm curfew, and there are very few tourists on the island. But there is an upside to it all. It's much more quiet and serene. There are very few people on the beaches. You get to really enjoy all the sites. And it's safe, because they've done a great job handling the pandemic. Trust me, if you're not wearing a mask, the locals will yell at you from their cars, so keep it on!
