I ended up getting a 150k Offer for the Platinum card earlier this week and ended up taking it since I saw 80k offers a lot more.

Cardmatch gave me the 150k Platinum offer on Monday, Nov 14th so I applied and got accepted. I wasn’t planning on applying for any new credit cards but since 150k is rare for existing Amex card holders, I just did it. I already have Gold and BPP.

All of these changes that you just mention are definitely signs that something big is coming, especially when all the credit card companies are slashing their sign-up bonuses in half. Could be working with the feds and part of deterring people from signing up during the holidays with low bonuses.

Personally, I think it is unwise to apply for a credit card right now. With the prospect of recession it would be best to make sure you have a well funded emergency fund as well as potential sources of income such as side hussles and dividends from stocks.

Credit card and bank welcome bonuses have jumped the shark. I built up enough cards over 2021 and 2022 – the newest offers don't appeal. Just aiming to beat inflation using the right cards, reward categories, special offers, and the like.
Or they surprise everyone with a 100k bonus again before dropping it

Also… The decrease in the CSR bonus was expected. It was announced as a limited time offer and the highest one in about 5 years. Can't blame recession for that. I'm sure it's going back to the standard 60k
