Yeah, somehow if you switch from amex points to cash back rakuten will never allow you to switch back. It's crazy. So I use honey, be frugal and many other portals which very often offer more than rakuten rates of return.

so I created an account, but I don't see how I make sure it is connected to get Amex MR points instead of cash back. I see where I can select Paypal or big fat check, but then it just describes Amex but not selecting it. I put my Amex in the wallet. Does this not activate until I make the first purchase? just want to make sure I do it right before I make a big purchase at best buy
