New York has some lovely woods. My dad and I looked at properties in New York years ago to see about putting a cabin on it. Very peaceful, very beautiful. Land was really cheap back then, often $500-$750 per acre…I doubt it is that cheap anymore.
In the video you mentioned you were building in New York, I assume it's upstate. Aren't the taxes in New York ridiculously high?

How will you get the full $400K when doing a cash-out refi?
At the most, a bank will only give you 80%-90% of the appraised value, and since there’s a market slow down, coming to a market correction, $400K will be a little less in the next 5-6 months
