The opposing side: 5 Reasons to AVOID American Express Cards – https://youtu.be/rwLz4J9BiFw
American Express cards are my primary go to and I use some of my benefits to help my children and grandchildren travel more comfortably!
I have the Platinum, Gold, Green, Hilton Aspire, and BBP. I’ll pick up the Amazon Business Prime in November.
I’m retired with a ton of travel in my lifetime so I’m winding down my travel in a few years and will transition to mostly cash back cards at that time.
You forgot to mention the biggest reason why NOT to get AmEx if you travel a lot: they are barely accepted internationally, especially in Asia (except for maybe Hong Kong). You can travel to SE Asia, China, a lot of European countries, throughout Africa and you will see how your fancy Platinum gets denied every time- embarrassing and dangerous if you do not have a backup card (Visa) or cash to pay. Speaking on personal and a lot of friends' experiences. Nothing like my Chase Sapphire Reserve
I always find it amusing whenever anyone discusses or a website ( points guy, etc) reviews the Amex Gold, they talk up the 4X in dinning and refer to the 4X in groceries as an afterthought. The fact is it's easier to do 4X in grocery than restaurants because most people are cooking and dining out has so many barriers today. $25,000 is alot of money th maximize, I don't think people spend that much on dinning out in the last 2 yrs, but definitely have on groceries in the year of shut down.
I am interested in the premium rental car you can elect to purchase through your Amex card. It is primary coverage for your rental car for $25 per rental period, as long as it is no more than 41 days. How does it compare to the primary coverage with Chase, which has no up charge? I have used the Amex coverage, but never had to make a claim. Anyone ever had to make a claim? I understand there is no deductible.
Amex has the best credits. My annual fee has paid for itself these last two years.
Eh Amex Plat lounge sucks, Had to wait to get in
Didn’t realize I needed to use the rsvp code I got in my pamphlet so I lost out on 50k points. Customer service said they couldn’t honor the offer after I accepted my offer for applying online. Only downside I’ve noticed so far.
Back to normal.
My man got jokes
Canadian Platinum; $200 travel credit is big, then the immediate Gold Status at Bonvoy which can be status matched to a bunch of different places (Bonvoy Gold to Wyndham Platinum to Ceasers Platinum to M Life Gold, for Vegas), Lounges (which are ~$50 each time I'm in an airport), and really good insurance that prevents me from having to spend $150-$200 a trip for similar coverage are all huge. Then incidentals like extended warranty and purchase protection are quite minor, but nice perks. Then there's the other less used things like Fine Hotels and Resorts (which is good for a short stay for the upgrade and credits), the bang-on customer service, and all the insurance, the offers which returns anywhere from $50-$200 a year in free stuff I was going to buy anyway? Makes up for the annual fee and then some.
Hey Sebby can the Blue cash preferred or Blue cash everyday be used to earn MR if you have a MR earning card already?
I swear Sebby is sponsored by the Maldives National Government, he recommends visiting there in every video!
I used to think the platinum card was such an amazing card. Now, I’m probably going to downgrade my card to a Gold or maybe the bonvoy brilliant
I loved American Express until they showed there racist ways. NO ONE should get this card and the company should burn until the racist management is removed.
I used card match as advertised, now the robo calls wont stop!!
I have no interest in American xpress or chase cards but I luv watching Sebby anyway, still gives good credit card advice
What are you talking about ? You lost me 5 minutes ago
Centurion lounge in ATL? Did I miss something ? ATL is my home airport.
The centurion lounge in Seattle was pretty minimal, I was not impressed
5-10 dollars per visit of value when going to a centurion lounge? its more than that! I (and my friends) easily rack up 70 bucks worth of stuff in food and drinks and internet when going each time.
