As Ceasar's diamond, I've been getting a lot of offers for Rio. I've stayed there 3 times already in 2023, and will be there again in March. The thing I like most is that the garage parking is a short walk to the guest elevators (contrast with PH, etc.). The rooms seem fine to me. Lots of space, and the two sinks and vanities are nice if you have a lady friend along. The rooms have been clean in my experience, and while the lamps definitely feel cheap, everything has functioned, including the heat/AC. I never eat on the property unless I have a dining credit. There aren't many options and they're crazy over-priced. I'll drive out to AZC-Decatur for their $5.99 breakfast special, or downtown to Magnolia's. 1/2-point dining at Stations on Wednesday is one of the best deals in town, IMO, and South Point breakfast/brunch buffet is a good value as well.
Hey now! Enough smack-talking the A's. They have 9 World Series titles, meaning only the Yankees and the Cardinals have more than them. You should be so lucky to have them keep their name.
As someone who lives in the Seattle area it is interesting to me that Nevada does not have a state lottery of any kind considering how big gambling is in the state. It would generate millions of dollars in revenue that the state could use to fund important things such as education, mental health resources & infrastructure to name a few. I like Mark's idea of selling lottery tickets in the casino & I have seen that concept first hand in British Columbia Canada. As for the A's, it should be pointed out that all options for keeping the A's in Oakland need to be exhausted before they even relocate to Vegas & even then there's no guarantee that it's happening due to what Shawn mentioned about the governor not wanting to raise taxes.
It's gotta be the Las Vegas Aces or nothing at all
As ballpark chaser I would love an mlb team in vegas
I'm gonna say it's more about the raiders image, colors and merchandise $$$$$ over any history, not that it hurts. The As colors are hideous I'd definitely rebrand them Vegas themed.
The old convention model is a dying breed. Just way too expensive for the vendors, sending sales reps, building booths …same goes for attendees. Businesses definitely cut back on that. Like you said the more experience type like twitch and other cons…make much more sense today. Alot of those type conventions here on the east coast charge to get in.
When is buffalo bills reopening the the desperado and water log rides?
Hey guys!
Really Appreciate You Guys, But Mark, SE Location for Oakland Teams…🤔🤷♂️ STN Crushing That Wildfire Fremont, Just Like they Crush My Free Play at Red Rock!!!
What state constitution are you talking about? Federal? Lotteries are bad. They make people think that they can be rich by risking a small amount of money. Why work? This is anti-americanism … a person can be rich by luck? No, only by their blood, sweat, tears, and innovation. A very small percentage of the population are actually playing any lottery.
Often, most of the money for lotteries go into administration and marketing … very little goes to things like schools..
Maybe the name the new stadium for the A's Chris Angel field and it can have some nice carpet for Shawn lol
Big oring . Like boring. 😮
I've seen those grannies around town before. Not sure if they're locals or not, or if it's some themed pub crawl type of thing. But I've seen them at Area 15 at least twice in the last year or so… young women dressed in similar clothes and wigs.
The festival grounds was probably the best location, but Rio might be 2nd best. The city just needs public transportation to the games. Closer to Summerlin and the NW makes more sense. Baseball fans go to a lot of games.
"Billionaires asking for handouts." EXACTLY!!
Love all the news around mlb coming to vegas. Also excited about Vegas lottery potential.
The stadium idea is interesting but how would it connect to the Strip. That walk to the Raiders stadium is long as hell.
How soon do you think casinos will get rid of their resort fees?
