Great order and tips, especially for someone who’s just getting started with credit!

I would complete the Chase trifecta and if possible get the Chase Ink business cards (all 3) for maximum Chase UR points before going to Capital One due to the 5/24 rule.

Ben will you do a video on the credit cards Kpop idols like Blackpink "Lisa" use like Hyundai Card’s The Black, Samsung Card’s Raume O, Hana Card’s Club 1 and KB Kookmin Card’s Tantum? Hard to get ones like them? Credit Cards they use in Korea, a tier list like you do for the USA? So many K-pop artists making the USA Billboard charts BTS, Blackpink, Loona, Itzy, Twice, (G)I-DLE, NewJeans etc. I was just wondering.

If you are just starting out, getting 2 Chase cards in 2023 is almost undo able as Chase requires one year of credit history to get Freedom and Sapphire. You should make it clear that going from zero credit this this lineup can easily take a couple years

The Venture X has made things so much more complicated. It's like an end game card but you have better approval odds with less open cards on file. It's so weird.

The IT was fine for years. All of a sudden, they suspended my card to do a so-called identity review. I think it's a financial review. I was late one time by a day. After reading that some have signed the forms so they can check your tax forms and still had thier card closed. It's my second oldest card and I wanted to keep it. But, at this point they can close it because I am a little pissed.

If possible I would skip the Discover It, go to the Freedom card's first. and fit in the Amex Gold card as number 4.

Great video Ben!! Could you do a similiar video but focused on cards that maximize benefits for those of us who do not travel enough to take advantage of those rewards??

This is a super interesting list! I’ve been planning a similar video for my channel, but you made me take some things into consideration that I didn’t before.. it’s cool to see how the credit card game continues to change over the years! Great work on this one.

Any particular reason neither of the Citi cards make an appearance here? Is it because of the weight of Citi thank you points verse Amex Chase and Capitol1?

I think Chase cards are over-rated and not so beginner friendly. I would recommend the Citi Custom Cash card as one of the early beginner cards instead, especially for 2023. It has a decent welcome bonus for low spenders / those on a budget, but more importantly it does all the work for you and gives you 5% (up to $500 per billing cycle) in your highest spend category. Simple and straight forward.

I would probably swap out the Amex BCE for the Bilt Mastercard for more opportunities to earn Hyatt points. Especially as beginners are probably still paying rent.

I was able to start with the 2 freedoms. I’m now going for the Amazon prime and ending the year with a sapphire. I want to try for the sapphire as my third but I’m afraid I’ll get denied.

Most times it amazes me greatly the way I move from an average lifestyle to earning over 63k per month, utter shock is the word. I have understood a lot in the past few years to doubt that opportunities abound in the financial markets, The only thing is to know where to focus. All thanks to MASKOFFAID
