What are your favorite memories of Buffalo Bill’s, the Desperado roller coaster or anything else in Primm? Let’s reminisce in the comments!
Buffalo Bill’s Hotel & Casino is located in #Primm, Nevada and is home to over 1,200 rooms, a 60,000 square foot casino, 6,500 seat arena, movie theater and a theme park that once was record breaking, but today sits completely #closed and shuttered. Yes, all of Buffalo Bill’s is closed, but the Primm Valley & Whiskey Pete’s are open and I’ll cover those in a separate video coming soon because there is a ton to see including Bonnie & Clyde’s car and one of the deadest malls I have seen in a long time.
Primm, Nevada formerly known as simply State Line is located about 30 minutes from the Las #Vegas Strip and is home to three casinos and over 5,000 hotel rooms! Right now Buffalo Bill’s is indefinitely closed with no known reopening date (that I could find).
During this #shuttered #casino tour we’ll do a full walk around of the entire property and check out the closed #amusement & #theme #park rides and the train which has now been abandoned for over 20 years! The crows were circling overhead, but I made the full tour anyway! You don’t want to miss it!

I also had a chance to ride this coaster. It had been years since I was on one and always passed in on my drive, after all it was a bathroom stop and a chance to possibly strike it rich on the way to Sin City. Feeling a little brave in my early 50s, this thing was fast and scary. By the time I got off, I thanked the good Lord I had not indulged in the cheap food before hand.
My memory although not a fond one is the road trip I took with my ex and our dog. We stopped here for a break and the dog got loose in the parking lot and I was scared to death that she would get hit by one of the many cars roaming around. But thankfully she didn’t and we eventually caught her and were on our way once again. I wish someone would buy and restore this place and make the rides better. They were never that great, but they could be so much better.
Not a bad vid at all very good.
The reopening is planed for Christmas eve 2020, full renovations are taking place during the covid shutdown. Can't wait to be back.
Love Desperado, it’s my favourite Roller Coaster…I don’t care if it’s rough or smooth, I always get a buzz riding it…love the Log Flume too, we went to stay here a couple of years ago, but ended up in one of the other casino/hotels as it was closed for hotel guests for the day. It’s such a shame about the shopping mall, it was always a plus when coming to Las Vegas (driving to Primm), me and my family have been shopping here so many times, admittedly the last time we came here, we noticed a lot of lost shops…noticeably Hollister. Saying all this, when we return, we will still come visit.
stayed there 3 times in the 90's. it was fine.
My family stayed there when we moved between states in 2003. The interior western theming had aged poorly back then, I'd hate to see what it'd look like now if they kept it all.
As an LA guy driving to and from Vegas, Buffalo Bills was a place I liked to stop at. I'd make the excuse of having to go to the bathroom and not being able to hold it for 30 more miles to get to Vegas. So I'd drag my car load of friends out to go to the casino and we'd spend an hour getting warmed up gambling before going to Vegas. Sad this historic place doesn't have the same luster, but I no longer stop in Primm.
My mom would always stop at Buffalo bills and us kids would ride the coaster and the log ride . It was in the mid 2000s .
Sad !
Was last there in May of 2018 – they had let everything get run down, but the coaster was running and my husband got to ride it! I love the theme of this place. We were there on Mother's Day and there were families there, but none of the other rides were operating…very sad…
Great video 👍..very sad to see another casino to close. I use to be a vendor that did copier repairs in all 3 properties there at state line.. Somthing alot of people didnt know is that BB would be closed during December because it was the slowest month of the year then open back up in January. Didnt surprise me when i heard of there closing. The other 2 casino would probably close down as well within a short time.
stayed for 4 days there back in the mid 90s for CES, it was end of the year, that wind is freezing. would drive into vegas for the convention. rode the rollercoaster , that first drop and going around the volcano was fun. i do remember there was some kind of prison up against the mountain i could see from the hotel room.
Holy mackerel… when you showed the monorail 🚝 I had a crazy flashback when I stayed in the hotel on the Primm vally hotel and rode to the other casino.. I remember being pretty drunk.. solo.. was weird sh*t lol.. wow the news at the end of the Outlet Mall going down.. i stopped there in route to a trade show weekend in Vegas needed running shoes , forgot mine.. so went into Nike and bought a pair real quick. People wake up.. the evil powers that be, the deep stayte is on a terror
Wow this was really interesting. I enjoyed this vidro
@11:55 That worker wished he had his safety glasses on
Really enjoying this series although it's bittersweet. Thanks for all your hard work!
Wait…so is this place definitely closed? Looks like their website is still up. It looks like it's allowing me to make a test reservation for next week. It's sad to see. I was there last in 1998 and it was a pretty cool place.
I honestly think this place is done for. The coronavirus was the final nail in the coffin
was there a rv park there
I remember as a child, driving by this place on road trips but never went inside . It is so eery seeing this place abandoned. Hopefully this hear , we can can somewhat go back to normal
Where's your mask ? Lol
Interesting video, Shawn. It's so sad to see Buffalo Bill's closed. It must have been nice in its day. I remember passing through Primm in the 1980's on the way from LA to Las Vegas, but this resort wasn't there at that time. I was curious about the Desperado, so I watched someone's video of riding it from 10 years ago. Sorry to mention that, but was interesting to see how rough-riding it was even back then. It was interesting to see the parkings lots full of cars too. Hopefully this pandemic ends soon, and that someone will have the funds to fix up the place and re-open it.
Thank you for another awesome look at 'what once was' in Primm NV.
I been to buffalo bills it was'nt bad it was place
Wasted money and casino
I used to work as a cage cashier there 20 years ago. I had no idea they closed! Good memories there! My Husband I met there, he used to live in those trailers in the back when I dated him.
I loved going there for the off-road races. We would hang out at the tree bar and ride the log ride…lowest score had to buy the next round. It was snowing outside and pretty cold after the splash down.
Stayed there in my rv in the parking lot in 2018, I was hoping to ride Desparado with my kids but sadly it was closed.
Great place was there opening day. Saw Kenny Rogers and Kim Karns hotel food show for $100.00
We rode the coaster many times…went to a free concert by the rock group…REO Speedwagon…
This makes me sad. We used to visit Vegas once a year, and we would often make the drive out just to ride the Desperado. I have good memories with good people at that place. Now it's closed? Kinda slaps my feels a little. :/
Aw, even the billboards have been abandoned.
Is it closed temporarily or forever? Cause online it says it’s closed temporarily “due to covid” but that doesn’t make sense since so many other hotels are open now….
May 14th is my birthday too. 😍 I was 3 when this was built and I'm so sad I may never ride it.
best memory of riding this is with my Grandparents when I was a teen. RIP Grampa, I hope we'll ride this again one day…
They had the best log ride up there with knotts. The theming was fantastic. Loved themed hotels (which now gone which poorly differentiates casinos). Hopefully they reopen.
It will open after the pandemic is under control.I rode the coaster in 98 and it was great!
You and I share the fact we both had the privilege of watching Buffalo bills being built. Watched this whole place being build as a kid, along with the roller coaster. RIP Buffalo Bills… Brings a tear to myself (Literally).
I just found out this casino closed. This sucks man. I have a lot of good memories when I was younger and playing in the arcade. The arcade at this casino was awesome.
Hope it comes back. Never have gotten a chance to ride Desperdo :/
Many many memories from this place and the state line in general… Since I was 12… Very nostalgic… I really hope they re-open this place…
What a shame the that place had a lot of potential
Me and my son use to ride this coaster , the log ride and he use to have a blast playing all the arcade games……Sad it closed.
Shuttered! Dang.
Really really sad to see how dilapidated it all has become…What the hell happened to Vegas?
I was just recently near Buffalo Bills and it looked totally abandoned but they were test riding the big coaster
The station was in the casino not outside.
Welcome to the West Coast where it's hot at in Nevada lol..
Wait, is it confirmed that it is permanently closed? Will it never reopen?
