Welcome to #Primm, Nevada which sits only 30 minutes from the Las #Vegas #Strip. Today we have casino tours of the historic Whiskey Pete’s and Primm Valley Resorts. Ever wonder who Whiskey Pete is or why this place exists? Hint: It started as a place to sell moonshine!
During this mega tour we’ll visit the casinos, pools and other cool areas of both Whiskey Pete’s and Primm Valley. We also tour the completely #dead #mall attached to one of the casinos. It may not have a lot of stores left, but there is so much inside you want to see!
If you’ve only ever driven past Primm or haven’t yet had time to explore “State Line” then you’ll love this video! Tell me what you think of that glass elevator at Whiskey Pete’s and the insane art work at the mall!
Check out our full tour of the shuttered Buffalo Bill’s casino also in Primm –

I went to work at Whiskey Pete's back in 1982 before all of the expansion took place. 20 stool bar, 35 seat restaurant. Tourists by the bus loads (bus drivers got a $100. kickback for stopping). Some one came up with the bright idea of selling $1.00 hot dogs at the bar (where I worked) & 50¢ draft because the restaurant couldn't handle the crowds during their one hour stop. Weekends we would sell over 1000 hot dogs in an 8 hour shift!!! At the time most employees lived in the trailers that were just north of the property that is all parking lot now. Good times. I also helped open Kactus Kate's Casino (the former Tower Casino) in 1984 where Buffalo Bill's parking is today. I still love the area & visit quite often. Hated to see everything closed when Covid hit. Took a drive out there & everything was dark & vacant minus WP truck stop. I have several videos of my visit shared here on YouTube also during my visit. Nice tour of yours too by the way.
state line was jumping till 2014 sad to see it dead
That was very interesting. So sad to see every place hurting due to the economy and the pandemic. The outlet mall looks really cool but again, so sad to see so many empty spaces (like most malls everywhere). The artwork is beautiful, and adds a lot of color to the mall. Thanks Shawn!
I would love to see a video on Bob Stupak’s Vegas World. My father went there often when they gave out script money to gamble with. It had a space theme. You could start with some info / photos when it opened and visit it now as the Strat.
years ago we saw Merle Haggard at Whiskey Petes. It was sometime in the 80's if I remember correctly.
I hope it all gets shut down the asshole security guy they have make has no clue what he is talking about
I remember staying here a few times when it was called the Primadonna. For me it was like that last chance to gamble before heading home.
Truck drivers Paradise lot of money spent there.
I remember the mall as a kid, to be very busy . How sad 😥
I’m from Scotland but really enjoying your video tours. Won’t ever make it to Vegas in person I think but it’s very interesting to see what it’s become. The shopping mall was very interesting. Much like my local shopping centres. About two shops open……it’s very weird and very eerie.
Great videos
Such a throwback! During the 2010's, I would make frequent trips from LA to Las Vegas and I'd stop in Primm sometimes to spend the night or to eat (I loved the Mad Greek Cafe and Hot Dog on a Stick.) Seeing the Primm exit from the highway was a beacon of hope after a long drive. Also, I'm shocked that the outlet mall has declined so much… I used to shop there in the late 2000's and early 2010's to get cheap trendy clothes for college. Perhaps they will make a comeback at some point
Great place as a kid. BB had the rides and arcade. Take the tram to Whiskey for the water slide(after BB removed it’s slide). And bus it to Primm for some food and shopping. Some of our trips didn’t even go into Vegas. Primm was enough. It’s too bad it didn’t hold up, but I believe there is hope. They should work a deal with a casino to shuttle people 24/7 into Vegas as the drive back was always daunting late at night.
When we went to the mall 10 years ago, every store was open. it was hopping! We loved it!
I literally stopped by this place on my way home from Vegas, and it was just out of curiosity. Casino area was small for the most part, but I thought the Bonnie and Clyde exhibit was really cool.
Great place was there opening weekend spent allot of time there eating and seeing many shows at the arena with the wife hope it opens soon
Sour apple 🍏
Funny…my first thought was, yeah you can get OUT to the pool…but can you get back IN??? Thankfully – yes…..but I HAVE been locked out on the other side of that door in Vegas!
Reminds me of a "Life After People" episode. Creepy.
They've not run those monorails for years. At this time, they'd need to rebuild it, but I don't think they have the funds. I think that whole complex needs a complete rehab.
Real nice artwork
So why was this mall built in the middle of nowhere? It must have had something to attract the investment?
There use to be a really great steak restaurant inside whisky Pete’s back in the 90s and early 2000s .
I loved Primm, stayed there many times in mid to late 90s, as a kid went with family to Whisky Pete's. I was in Vegas 2017 and 2019, and how CHAOTIC it has become…Primm could be easily marketed as a quiet alternative for lodging, visit the Vegas craziness, then stay in Primm…short drive
Didn't that area used to be amazing when it was new? The roller coaster wrapped around the building, wow! But now… very sad. OH – that Bonnie & Clyde car came to my town in a traveling carnival long ago, and it was marketed as a scary attraction, I don't think kids under 18 were allowed in. But anyway – nothing sadder than a closed monorail. 🙁
I worked in Primm for about 6 months in 2009. Petes would let me rent rooms there for $15 a night so I wouldn't have to drive to North Las Vegas after every shift. Primm is an interesting little spot lol
Great job sr thanks
