Citi points may not be as popular as Chase Ultimate Rewards, or Amex Membership Rewards, but that could be due people overlook Thank You Points. But, Citi Transfer partners offer great value and will be the best way to use Citi Thank you points. These options include flying ANA first class, or even the best way to fly to Hawaii with Turkish Miles and Smiles. And Citi credit cards like the Citi Prestige, Citi Premier, and Citi Double Cash are great cards to earn Thank You Points.

Correction: Aeroplan also doesn’t impose fuel surcharges anymore. But they do pass on a $39 CAD fee for booking on partner airlines.
Thank You points are looking into if seeking under specific redemptions. The problem of course is that Citi cards are just bad other than for collecting points when it comes to travel protections.
Bro, I absolutely loved this video. I have been using AVIANCA since 2006!!! People have been sleeping on LIFEMILES and it's some of the best redemptions out there if you can hit a sweet spot and do some research. Very good info.
Great stuff, I have been building my points balance with Citi!
Thanks for the video! However, saying "If you're willing to invest the time and energy for a chance at a good value redemption…" reminds me of how people used to have to deal with airline blackout periods and strict restrictions on point/miles use that caused people to hate dealing with redeeming airlines miles. You could earn em with ease but then the airline places major barriers as you attempt to redeem em. Your point is taken not to overlook Citi ThankYou points but the ease of point/miles redemption is a major factor folks should consider when deciding which point programs to get involved with.
Virgin Atlantic has outstanding customer service reps, they are knowledgeable and extremely courteous.
Love this info. Do you have a similar video for Amex?
I was totally unaware that Asia miles allowed stop-overs on 1 way flights and the mileage was capped at 85K. My P2 family lives in HK and we want to see either Singapore or Australia so that is a great redemption option wherever Cathay flies to. Awesome tip. I've always felt TY points were underrated especially at the advanced level.
Using the Virgin to ANA for a trip to Japan is something I've had in mind, both with MR and TY points. Their couch flights seem to be a great deal as well at 60k points for round trip, though that's not not the same experience as first class. I'd need to fly to a place that ANA flies out of, but that's pretty simple.
Turkish miles seem really good as well for domestic. Not just for Hawaii, it seems like a great value for domestic as a whole.
Thanks for making this video. There seems to be a lot of value you can get from TY points. And with the Prestige earning 5x on dining, and the Double Cash 2x everywhere, Citi does have a lot to offer.
I like Citi cards' ability to build travel points, but no travel insurance really hurts the interest in their cards. Citi should have kept their insurance. Citi Premier is great for earning points on car gas spending.
Thanks for sharing! I've been mostly using UR for simplicity of redemption. I may have to implement some of these strategies once traveling is a thing again.
I wish the Citi Dividend card awarded points.
Hong Kong is 7,200 miles from LA. How does it cost 72,000 miles?

Some great tips here. Diversification of points systems can open up some great opportunities if you want to learn the game. Bummed that the 1.25 redemption value has gone away on the Premier. Thinking about getting SUB for P2 and transferring points to my account before the cutoff. What are y’all’s thoughts there?
Turkish Airlines = Mind 🤯
Can you book travel through citi concierge, and have them transfer your points out to airline partners for you?
Ok, I want to earn some TY points now. Thanks for all the hard work Dustin. Take care and keep the family safe!
Not sure what I'm doing wrong but cannot find any availability on TA to HI
???
My wife is at 8/24 with 4 Chase, 3 Amex, 1 Barclays AA. Last card was Amex Green In November. Any thoughts on her getting Citi Premier? I have heard it is not easy…maybe wait 6 months between new cards and inquiries? Thanks.
These videos are just awesome
7500 miles to Hawaii is AWESOME
I've subbed for a long time now and learned sooo much from your content. I'm wondering if you've put together a more more focused and comprehensive program/tutorial series on the early, middle and late game of points and miles. You're vids are awesome, but I'd love to learn in a more focused step by step fashion. Just a thought. In any event, thanks for your efforts.
So if I have city thank you points I would have to transfer them to Turkish Airlines miles and then use them for a United or American Airlines flight?
Even more relevant now with the release of the Citi Custom Cash!
I’m still an Amex guy for now. Citi definitely has my attention though 👀✌️ Great video man; extremely helpful 🏆
I’m definitely getting on the Citi bandwagon. I’ll definitely be taking advantage of the custom card categories. Love the examples you gave. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video, very helpful. Is this Citi Premier card the best card for transferring points to Turkish Airlines? I currently have the Chase Sapphire Reserve and cannot transfer points there :/
This is for redeeming points for flights right? I thought it was points you got for paying.
