Upgraded my gold card to platinum after being targeted. They said my wife can keep her gold card as she is an authorized user on my account. I thought this was great as majority of our points come from grocery and restaurants. We are NOT accumulated 4x points using her gold card at restaurants and grocery stores. I’m fuckin pissed off and am going to call them tomorrow.

Hey Sebby. Southwest cards intro bonus mentions 5 points per dollar on Southwest purchases, and in the terms that includes Rapid Rewards Points Center. I assume that means on points purchases. So you would be purchasing at 1.49 CPP when you factor in points from the card. Still not great, but the points earned from the card would count toward Companion Pass, so maybe not bad if that’s your goal.
Idk the math doesn’t seem to be adding up 🤔 .. If you had a 1% card, wouldn’t you need to spend $5000.. and then $2500 if you had a 2% card in order to recoup that $50 ?

Robo Advisors like wealthfront also have some downsides I outlined in a video. There are other options for low friction investing, and it pays to do some research.

$50 signup bonus from the Apple Card doesn't move the needle for me. This is just an Apple fan boy/girl card. My wife got it only to help finance her new macbook.
AMEX story: I feel there is going to be a lot Sales Ethics training coming for some folks. The fact that some of these salespeople were fired will save big AMEX. Also this happened several years ago.
I hope all people see the business side of the AMEX controversy. They have to change the setup like Wells Fargo if they truly want change. If the companies just made the cards more appealing you would not need to be convinced you would just sign up instead.

Because of the global travel restrictions, many of us cancelled or product changed premium travel cards such as the CSR or the AMEX plat. Can you do an updated video on travel cards in the next couple of months when travel restrictions hopefully ease up? In particular, can you offer some choices for those of us that only would use the lounges once or twice this year? Thanks!

If $50 will make a big difference, you probably shouldn't be going through credit card videos on YouTube but rather working on your skills to earn more.
