Ben, I've had CLEAR for years and use it all the time out of SEA. As a Delta Skymiles (general) member, I've only been paying $79 for myself and $50 for the Mrs. Now, General SkyMiles members pay $119 per year and general United MileagePlus members also $119 per year. Don't know why mine is less, but either way if the APC is going to pay for it, who cares?! You just enroll using either of those frequent flier programs, and use the APC as the method of payment. Happy travels!

Equinox credit makes no sense. They don't have enough gyms to make sense for most people to join. The clear credit makes sense however

These systems have gotten too convoluted with higher fees. Sure, you can get more out of it, but after cost-benefit analysis it's better using that time and effort to learn a skill…
Love your channel been watching it for a few years already. Here's a good tip for XM radio. Give them a call tell them you want to cancel and they will give you the membership for 6.99$ I think. For 6 months I believe.
To get the SiriusXM credit you need to set up your plan to pay monthly, which could cost more in the long run even with the credit. I subscribe to the NY Times, and have for years. I am looking forward to credits for it. You will need to sign up for the most expensive plans for Equinox to take advantage of the credit. It does not work with a single club or metro access. As am Equinox member, I was excited, but angered to see I was not eligible since I only have a metro access. You should be able to get a 125,000 SUB now.

I know you are getting a credit for the XM radio so it probably doesn't matter but if that ever stops you are way over paying. Call up and tell them you want to cancel every time your agreement ends and they will give you a promotion. I pay $60 a year and have all the channels.
And when they say fine hotels and resorts. What they really mean is the best hotel resort you can stay in. Equinix that's a total waste. But on the bright side I am now going to get peacock never would have thought of that before. Clear membership definitely and if you only have one Platinum Card you can get a family member signed on 4 clear at an extra $50. Wheels up forget about that one. I love the Uber credit using Uber Eats, my wife loves the hotel credit. And I guess I'll get Sirius radio now just to try to make use of that credit. I have decided in order for me to keep the American Express Platinum Card. I have to go with a Morgan Stanley version. Thank you for breaking down the the new Rewards. For a dummy like me

Sure with Amex you get a good value with the benefits but if they weren’t things you wanted or weren’t using anyway then you’re not really benefiting. This is why I prefer chase the flexibility allows me to focus my benefits on points redemption
Siriusxm/audible for 2 questionable streaming services. Could be useful for some. I loved sirius when I had it but prefer spotify. Equinox is ass, the nearest one is an hour and a half away by PLANE for me and even if I lived near one a $300 credit wouldnt be enough to justify the membership cost, even if it was a 1500 credit (for $2100 a year) I'd still rather go to a $30/month gym and pocket the $240 I'd save instead. Pointless if you're not already a member. Which I get might be the case for their target clientele who are wealthy but at that point I'd think many of them would just have a home gym that rivals most commercial gyms. Really should've just been a $5 a month credit for ANY gym. CLEAR seems okay even though you'd need to buy it for your partner and would become useless for going to events with friends/kids who are over 18. Private jet flights are just pointless to me tbh, gotta be SUPER wealthy to even get a membership and then you still gotta pay. First class tickets just seem like a better deal with more flexibility. I guess this all makes sense if you're driving to the airport while listening to siriusxm, to hop on the booked private jet flight to travel to a nearby city, then using the uber credit to pay for your ride to the nearest equinox. What a joke.

I noticed that you mentioned paying your SiriusXM with the Amex credit. Have you tried to call customer service to ask for a deal? I been on the semiannual plan for $35 ($29.94 + fees) every 6 months since 2012. I set a reminder on my calendar and the day before my renewal I’ll call in to cancel. I’ll stick to my guns and ask for the same plan. In the end they somehow manage to “find” a special offer. I think they know with so many smartphone apps that consumers have options and they are desperate to keep subscriber numbers up. Since I pay up front the Amex benefit isn’t useful to my situation.

Speaking for my situation it wasn't worth at $550 even less now. I don't like when people tell me what to do even less when they tell me what and where to spend my money.

I believe the $25/month on Equinox can be put toward the Equinox+ app that starts at $40 a month (still unlikely to use myself)
CLEAR can be reduced for non-Plat by simple Delta SkyMiles membership to $99/yr & any status or Delta Amex brings that down to $79

The 150,000 point offer does exist. I received a targeted offer by both mail and the prequalified section on Amex website. Seems to have gone up right after I got the Sapphire Reserve!
I did the upgrade offer so it wouldn't count towards the 4 card Amex limit. The uber, entertainment, hotel, airline credits along with the lounge and sky club access and Hilton and Marriott elite status are well worth it!
I use peacock to watch premier league and I do use audible, that works great.
I got offered the 150K points so the first year is definitely worth it for me. Hopefully by the time my second year comes the categories will be better.
