Schwab has a service/product that operates similar to Wealthfront. The fee structure is different. Schwab doesn't charge a fee. They keep a larger portion in cash and keep the spread, which lately is quite small. All told, you have a pretty good financial head on your shoulders, pal.

Great job Dustin, if it's good to be boring at something, it should be at investing

I also have VTI! It’s my core holding. Largest fund I have. I’ve had it for a while. The gains now are larger than my investment.

My portfolio is with Schwab and tiny compared to most people, since I'm trying to pay off the last evil student loan (5.9K) asap. I have a question on what stocks to buy in which account. Does it matter if I buy just ETFs/Mutual stocks in my ROTH IRA or in my Brokerage? Or should I max out and buy stocks in my ROTH IRA, then transition to Brokerage? I'm not sure – which account to use for what situation, since I'm still learning on the long-term stocks game.

Here's what I have
Brokerage: 1x Nintendo stock (Can't reinvest deviance/my beginner mistake)
Trad IRA: No stocks (Not sure why I opened it)
Roth IRA: 1x Hyatt stock, 2x ETFs, and 2x target mutual fund 2055 (All stocks are reinvested)

Awesome investment! I assume your wife works for CVS…I see no contribution to HSA, can invest the contribution with PayFlex. The triple tax advantage 😁, have you guys consider?

Dustin, I may have mentioned this to you before, but, with learning about Wealthfront I’ve found two resources extremely helpful: (1) the dozen or two videos from several years ago that they posted on their official YouTube channel featuring Burt Malkiel and Charley Ellis and (2) their very thoughtful articles on their blog which can be accessed either on their website or within their app

Great portfolio. My wife and i have similar steps in our financial goals: finish off student loans ($50k left), fund 529 (daughter is 4 months old), then turn to the mortgage ($300k left). Currently maxing out 401ks and Roth IRAs already. #MillionaireBy40 (currently 35 y/o)

Your approach is definitely NOT boring – quite the contrary. It’s wise and inspiring. I wish I had saved like you are when I was your age. Very impressive results – for your portfolio and your trophy-ness. 😊

I'd love to retire with an investment worth at least $10MILLION and I'm ready to fund this goal. I believe this is possible in the stock market as I've overhead severally, how investors earn 6 figures monthly from their investment. I want to know the best way to start!

Hey Waller thx for full financial transparency!! Kudos on being a stay at home dad👍👍 I like ur investment style- nothing wrong with boring index funds + ETFs. I do agree u might want to consolidated investment accounts in future. I glad u like Vanguard + Fidelity funds too, however, in ur Wealth front, that is a lot of emerging/developed country ETFs, seem like they overlap. R u eligible for HSA? Fidelity has a great one. I’m sure u guys will be able to retire in mid 40s, late 40s latest.
