Used Chase Pay. Miserable experience, nobody knew how it worked at the stores. Saved a few bucks from promos though. Glad it's gone now.

My guess – it’s an inside Chase employee. I have accounts with numerous banks & have only had fraud problems with my Chase accounts. Last year, I had fraudulent transactions on Chase credit cards & attempted fraud on Chase bank accounts. Why only my Chase accounts? Seemed like a Chase employee was helping themselves to my personal info.
Great job breaking down the pros and cons of everything. None of it applies to me at this time because I’m in the rebuilding phase after a Ch.7 BK, but after I crack the 700 mark in the next couple of months I’ll be shopping for those reward cards. Until then, knowledge I’m filing away. Thanks!!

The only Chase offer I care about is the IHG Premier offer. Glad it's is still out (or got renewed). I should drop back under 5/24 this month, I'll apply probably the first week of April to be safe.
Fraud case; not Chase, they are not that dumb. Someone is taking advantage of Personal Identifying Information and their checking account offer or other credit card offers. Dumpster divers are why I shred anything that comes in the mail that someone could fill out and send in.
Chase needs to step it up. Mostly use the AE Gold now.
The SWA card – you can't have any version of the card now. I have this 20-year-old SWA card not offered anymore and I can't upgrade to this bonus. Sad for me

I'm currently 1/24. Have the CSR and CIC. Plan on getting the Flex and CIU also. Can someone sell me on the decision to apply for the SW Priority or United card when someone already has the CSR. I feel like there's no point in having the CSR if you need to use your airline cards to get positive value in return every year.

I love the SW priority card! It's like Southwest is paying me to use it. It beats the AMEX Delta Gold card I had (just recently downgraded to the Delta Blue) with the yearly incentive of 7,500 SW points + $75 credit.

I never used Chase Pay as it was intended. It was too awkward compared to Samsung Pay or Google Pay. It did not use NFC but took photos of a QR code on the POS. The only time I used Chase Pay was when there was a quarterly 5% cash back category and Chase Pay could be used through Samsung Pay.
As an aside, Samsung Pay is better than Google Pay. Samsung Pay is authenticate then tap. Google Pay is tap, authenticate, then tap again. A longer process when everyone behind you in line is waiting for you to finish fiddling with your phone and move along.
I keep my credit LOCKED at all times. When I have to apply for something, I lift it temporarily.

That's why it's also important to change your passwords frequently, so that they're no longer the same as the ones that got leaked, keep the passwords random, and add multiple layers of security like security questions, authenticator codes, authenticator keys, etc.

I froze my credit reports when equifax had the breach. Yes, it is a pain to have to unfreeze it everytime I need to apply for credit but it does give me peace of mind.

Slightly off topic, but hoping for some help: My wife and I would like to go to Ireland next spring. Our ideal flight is SFO to Dublin nonstop on Aer Lingus, first class. Aer Lingus has their Visa card on offer right now with 100,000 point bonus for $30,000 of spending in the first year, along with a free companion ticket.We can meet the spending requirement without difficulty. Looking at Aer Lingus’ Award chart, it appears that it would be 125,000 points round-trip for that flight. So I am interpreting these facts this way: if I take the card and meet the spending requirements I would have at minimum 130,000 points in my Aer Lingus account by a year from now, and I would receive a free companion ticket. Therefore we would both be able to take our goal flight with that benefit (except tax/surcharges) and nothing more. However I am a complete novice when it comes to cc points/miles, so I am wondering if I’m missing something here and if someone could weigh in with advice on whether I have a good plan. It would help me make the decision as to whether to apply for the Aer Lingus card or go in another direction. Thank you.

I’m 748 rapid rewards point away from the 125k companion pass. I sat my cap1 venture, Amex delta blue, and gold away and have been very pleased with just the chase plus SW card.
