City Center’s Big Land Sale, Million Dollar Vegas Jackpots & Prices Are Shooting Up!

by YouTube Team

Welcome to MtM #Vegas – Our weekly look at the cool #news and happenings in Sin City.

On this week’s show we preview my trip to Reno and Lake Tahoe including how it is there right now and where I stayed. Plus Mark discusses his upcoming September trip including a fancy Circa suite and very high prices, but he isn’t paying.

We also discuss the Vegas #gaming revenue and visitor numbers for March, 2021. Vegas is going through a big recovery, but in some ways things aren’t quite back to normal. Thankfully with capacity going to 80% on May 1 and then to 100% in June (most likely) that should change quite quickly.

In other news City Center has sold its last bit of land on the Strip, EDC has now officially been postponed until August and the Pinball Hall of Fame has moved into its new location on the Strip. Finally adult entertainment is returning on May 1. Vegas is soon going to feel a lot more like Vegas.

It seems rather odd to set your occupancy percentage based on vaccination rates of residents yet the risk is in the tourists where your vaccination rate may be much lower.

I can't believe that i missed the opportunity to meet you in Reno/Lake Tahoe as I just returned from my first trip to these locations Wednesday. Lake Tahoe was beautiful, and I can't wait to go again.

I'll be in Vegas in three weeks! Can't wait, it has been far too long.

Man, it has been far too long since I have been to Reno. It's really a lot of fun, if you aren't looking for Vegas. The drive from Vegas to Reno and back isn't that bad if you have good company.   I mean Goldfield, Tonopah, Luning…lol, not Luning. I think I might feel different about driving between Vegas and Reno if either were home. It is a long drive. At one point Southwest had nearly hourly service between Vegas and Reno (no longer).

I really like the discussion of gaming numbers. Seems like to me if the gaming numbers are up, then the gambler is the one going to Vegas right now.

Good to know the the pinball museum is open in the new location.

Thanks for the update, looking forward to visiting Vegas very soon.

I'm curious, does anybody have an opinion of The Shops at Crystals? I know it is high end but to me it is a boring concept void of any architectural character.

Strippers with masks? 3 feet distance. Brothels with masked ladies? No masks are the main problem. Masks are dangerous and don’t work.

Luckily I booked our September trip four weeks ago when Delta Airlines and M Life was offering great deals. Bellagio offered 4 nights free and 2 nights at $54 each, plus those pesky resort fees. Prices are now going back up.

City Center was a big disaster from the get-go. Annoying how the MGM bosses at the time managed to escape with their golden parachutes. I’m sure owners at the Waldorf- Astoria will love their new neighbors. 😁

19th to 23rd I was out there and because of your videos, I ended up doing the Mob Museum and then seeing Vegas Vicki, as well as checking out Fremont East, the Container Park and having dinner at Flippin Burger – chicken, medium hot, bacon, egg, pickles and fries to sop up the drippings. Told friends and coworkers and the Mob Museum and Vegas Vicki really piqued their interest. That and the sports book at Circa – a couple of folks lit up when I described Circa's rooftop pool.

Vegas is really busy on the streets and sidewalks but not in the casino's. A lot of ppl going to Vegas aren't gamblers.

Hi Shawn, Mark, Jasmine. Your discounted offer for FoundersCard and therefore Caesars Diamond status more than paid for itself on my first trip last week to Sin City: saved $185 in non-payment of Resort Fees for 5 nights at Planet Hollywood, No charge Room Upgrade and Early Check In and Late Check Out, countless Caesar's Properties (Paris, Cromwell, Flamingo, Planet Hollywood) Diamond Line at Cashier Cages, Registration Desk and $100 Celebration dinner at Old Homestead Steakhouse at Caesars Palace (I won't go back there again). Plus some Rewards Points converted to dollars at gift shops. So Thank You so much Shawn and Mark for the discounted FoundersCard offer. I won't make the 15,000 Tier Credits required to Maintain Diamond Status for next year so I hope FoundersCard lets you offer the same deal as this year. (I bet they will – actually MOST gamblers I played with at Roulette, Craps and Baccarat had Diamond Cards. I saw more Diamond Cards than Gold Cards)
Keep up the great informative content, great photos and videos Shawn and I hope to see you two out there some day soon.
Steve

Thanks for the updates again guys! I’m a Hilton Honors member as well and curious to see how you like the Waldorf Mark. I’ve wanted to check it out but I always stay at the Casino/Resorts. Getting ready for the next trip out here in May. Closest thing to a strip club I’ll go to in Vegas is Fantasy @ Luxor but thanks for the updates on the “boobies” too.

Are there any figures available on missing International visitoers? What kind of impact does that have in comparison to missing conventions?

“ Striiip clubs!”… “Maybe a masked dancer adds a sexiness to it, what you think?” …Shawn: “ Ah, ya, ah, it could definitely, some interesting vibes, definitely not my favorite place to go”….. “Vegas will be Vegas, NV will be NV..Everything that is Vegas will be back.” etc ..Mark: “ ya including boobies.. (“ ha ha “)
Shawn’s transitions after Marks comments are absolutely PRICELESS!!! LOL 😂.. Shawn we all wanted to see your reaction but you had B-Roll going …LOL!!.. Classic! And genuine! I get the impression Shawn’s wife gives no permission for him to go into strip clubs & I think Marks wife gives the green light, (SOMETIMES)!

Thank you for the advice on September bookings.. going to take it .. and wait .. I’m coming back for Marc Rebillet concert at Brooklyn Bowl .. last weekend of September, rates are so high and I knows it’s an NFL weekend too!🤦🏽‍♂️.. Was there for March Madness had a great time! Collaboration episode with Not Leaving Las Vegas would be cool.. you guys cover different LV news content but have similar fresh, new and analytic break down of LV..

Overall great episode watched it three times cracked up every time!

Don't forget guys – there's no pushing up to the number of visitors in the past, yet. You're forgetting that Canadians and Europeans can't travel to the U.S. yet. The crowd in Vegas nowadays are all just Americans. I'm getting the feeling that you think tourist numbers are down because there's no conventions. No, it's because the thousands of Canadians and Europeans can't come to Vegas yet.
