United points are soo dilated out. Sometimes, I try to get a business flight with points- 350,000 points required for trip from San Francisco to London. OUCH!!! Just stick with domestic travel

I think Chase is winner with redeeming points to pay for groceries and restaurants. AE is also a winner if all Hilton bonus points apply to lifetime diamond status- that is a like going through an express channel to your destination (which is still very far away, but a glimmer of hope).

I cancelled my Amex last month. No matter how you break it down, the $550 does not make any sense given that you can’t fly anywhere now, or if you can the cost is too high

Thanks for the Dell offer tip. Even though their "sales" are trash (they mark things up to discount them back to street prices) I still saved a few bucks!

Amex platinum also has an offer with RIMOWA where if you spend $600 or more , you’ll get 10k points. Def jumping on this as I’ve been looking for an investment luggage that would last me.

Honestly, I can't call it right now, I have so many premium cards with covid-19 benefits that I am having a hard time keeping up, but I am. The strategy I am trying to use is recouping my credits against the AF, then on to the multipliers. The AMEX Hilton expire was great with the hotel credit and the supermarket multiplier, had me using it a lot until August. I love the gas multiplier and others with the CSR. My AMEX Hilton aspire renews on 24-August, thus I have to keep using it for the $300 credit ASAP. So for me right now it AMEX, nonetheless, I am probably going to dump the AMEX gold card, I can't use the credit strategically, and the food/restaurants multipliers are duplicated on other cards.

Are the Bonvoy 10x points = 10% back? Usually you have the percent or cpp in your calculations but you didn't do that for this. Also, a lot of preferred stock (can buy off Webull, Robinhood etc) will pay 4% or more so the Citi $200 doesn't move the needle for me (since you're going to have to lock up your money with them for x time anyway).

For upcoming players, just got targeted for the US Bank Altitude Go card. No fee, 4x dining 2x grocery, and $15 credit on streaming if you put it on the card for a year. Pretty good dining spend for no fee, but who knows if they'll nerf it in the future like the Uber card.

Hey Sebastian,

I was just targeted by Hilton for 100,000 point signup bonus offer for the Hilton Amex (no af version). My credit is in good standing and I have only one inquiry in the last year. Should I apply for it?

This was super timely for me. I did not think there was anything on Dell I needed so I had not activated the reward. I had a turntable in my Amazon cart and I though I would do some price cheeking. I saw the same exact one available on Dell.com for the same price. Activated the offer and ordered it through the Amex link. I already got the Congratulations for using an Amex offer email for it even though the charge has not cleared yet. Got a $250 turntable that I completely intended on buying anyway for $150! Awesome.

Has anyone been able to get a refund on their annual fee for airline cards? I was just charged my first AF for delta gold, but I'm planning on calling them to ask for a refund, since the benefits are basically useless for a while.

Glad you're not doing those popular "Stimulus Check" videos! Hope this comment and thumbs up helps you. I need your expert advice. I have a Chase Ink Biz Unlimtd card since 2016 at $7,500 CL. They don't offer me a bal transfer and have a purchase interest rate is 13.25%. Should I close this card and apply for new one ($500 SUB and 0% 12 mo transfer) or will that 'hurt' my biz credit some way, or is there a better approach ??? Your expert advice please ?

For how much the amex fees are… I shouldn't have to add a coupon to my card…it should be automatic…feels cheap when I have to scroll through 100+ deals to add them to the card

Amex platinum gave me a $200 travel credit for August. This is separate from the one where you choose an airline. Not sure if it was for everyone, but when I called in about the annual fee, I was informed about the offer.

For the Dell offer on Amex, I think you don't get the credit until January of next year. That's what I read in the fine print.

Chase wins, and here's an important data point, Sebby.

I had 5 cards, two of which were the CSP and Freedom Unlimited which I just got in May. As soon as I hit the bonus on both, I went out on a whim and applied for the regular Freedom in-branch since watching all these videos created an itch that I couldn't wait months to scratch in completing the Chase Trifecta. After getting the dreaded "7 to 10 days" response from the banker, I felt the Bayes' probability was likely going to be an inevitable denial – although I still had fools' hope since it was a low-risk, high payoff effort. Turns out that in my haste, I hadn't unfrozen my credit reports beforehand and Chase later sent me an SM to remedy and call them to finish the application. When I did so, I got approved on Tuesday, no questions asked! As Sebby says, YMMV. I have two hypotheses as to how I managed to bypass 5/24, and this is unlikely to be a repeatable experiment:

1) I was actually at 4/24 because Chase considers my Discount Tire credit card as a store card, and thus didn't count it toward 5/24.

OR

2) I was at 5/24, but Chase is giving targeted exceptions to existing customers based on individual credit profiles. I score 785+, I'm an engineer working for the federal government, a transactor credit consumer, applied in-branch, and my income/debt ratio is around 2.5%.

5/24 is absolute…until it's not. 😁 I'm now gardening 🌱🌱 until I can confidently get the Hyatt card in March '21.

Hi Sebby, thanks for this video—very informative. However, I have a question, I have been applying for multiple cards lately, I have noticed that the banks seem to rotate their pulls with all three bureaus. My last few pulls all hit my Experian report and nothing on the other two. So, can you tell me what are the normal rotations for the big banks, or how can I tell which bureau a bank is pulling from at that moment?
