Guys I love going on incredible trips, but to get to those destinations you have to first get to the airport and there is nothing worse than having to get up at 3 in the morning to make an 8 am flight. So for my latest trip to Mexico I decided to stay at the TWA hotel at JFK, this is the only hotel inside the boundary of the airport and is built in the old TWA terminal. You may recognize this tunnel from the movie catch me if you can.

Check in is at the old check in tables and in this area you will notice a lot of memorabilia, old cars, a classic coke machine and a luggage car bearing the branding of Trans World Airlines or TWA which operated from 1930 to 2001. This building had originally opened in 1962 as the TWA flight center, but lay empty for 20 years until it was reopened as a hotel.
The catch me if you can tunnels lead to the hotel wings where the rooms are. Our room had two double beds, classic TWA posters on the walls. You get this cool little mini bar area, wireless charging station, TV, old style telephone. In general it is a good room.

But if you prefer an outdoor bath, you can try the roof top pool that boasts views of the airfield. TWA calls it a pool cuzzi, and it is heated to a constant 95 degrees all day, you can see the steam coming off the water here.
Now let’s check out the main terminal building which is now called the sunken lounge. Its a cool spot to sit and hang out. There is an old plane and a fake runway out the window.
But this is now my main criticism of the hotel, there was no restaurant. You could buy some take out food in boxes from the fast food places at the front of the hotel and bring it to this sunken lounge to eat. But that involved a long wait, then walking over, eating out of boxes in an uncivilized way. We deserve better. There was also no room service, which also really sucked, what hotel doesn’t have room service?
Now maybe they are using COVID as an excuse for the lack of room service and no proper restaurant, perhaps they will have a waiter service restaurant and be able to deliver food to your room in the future. But it really doesn’t make sense, when New York restaurants ARE open, just at a lower capacity.
I booked this hotel for $136, with taxes and fees it worked out at around $170. I used the Sapphire Reserve for 3x back on travel. Anyway guys it is a nice hotel from a room and pool point of view but the restaurant situation is unacceptable in my opinion for a four star hotel. Most people who stay here probably only stay one night so it is just a inconvenience for that one day but still, if I am getting ready for a flight the next day, I want a smooth eating experience, i.e. room service or at least a waiter service restaurant. Let me know what you think of this hotel below, please subscribe, I will have my review of Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos coming soon and we will see you next time. Bye.

Match Rewards sounds pretty awesome. I’ll check it out.
Nice mask Ben 😉
Nice hotel! Catch me if you can is one of my favorite movies of all time. Hope you’re having a great time in Mexico!
Hello!
Lol pulling a Ricky Gervais eh Ben? You should have also mentioned that Epstein didn't kill himself. 🤭
Hollywood deserves those comments. Great review, I try yo avoid JFK as much as I can but it is good to know that this hotel is within premises.
At least the prices went down! IIRC, the nightly rates pre-COVID when it first opened were over $200/night from the first videos I saw. But that also might have been due to AvGeeks booking more expensive rooms looking towards the terminals/runway. $170/night after taxes/fees to be right within the airport is still a really good deal, but I wonder if that's a COVID rate too. I wouldn't expect a sitdown restaurant, but I am surprised they don't have more food options in the hotel (especially after they advertised all their bars, especially the one in the old plane).
Staying here in September, looks cool
No room service? Yikes! Ill totally try this place once, but that and no places to eat within is kind of sad. Great video as always!
Nice !
Looks like a very fun hotel
Agreed with room service, but you can go to business class lounge or Priority pass lounge or AE lounge in the morning
Sounds like a "4 star hotel" more than a 4 star hotel in actuality… I think to be actually considered 4 star you need onsite dining
Glad they put that shit to use
"Hollywood Greats"…mentions Harvey Weinstein…awkward.
Nah bro..I disagree with your take on the no restaurant situation..this hotel is not about that but about the experience…I'm so excited to book a night here
Agree with you, is such an excuse if the spend so much to make a hotel, should be a lot choices to eat and a restaurant inside of the hotel, even if is limited how many people can be there
Weinstein and Kevin spacey 😭😭
