Welcome to the Mohave Desert and welcome to our #Vegas to California series. Today we are going to tour the historic #abandoned Arnes Royal Hawaiian Motel in #Baker, California. This 43 room tropical themed hotel opened in 1957 and closed for good in 2009 following the global financial crisis.
Despite the motel being in pretty rough shape I was able to tour some of the rooms, check out the stunning architecture and roof of the reception building and even look at the abandoned pool and leisure areas. The Royal Hawaiian Baker is partially burned in spots, but most of the building is rotting but preserved.

Great video👍I love watching this type of videos
Cool vid, been by this place many times.
The vaulted wooden ceiling in the lobby building is very unique and appears to be in great condition. I’m surprised no one has purchased it and moved it to a different location. 🤔
I'm from Manitoba Canada and enjoy your videos and I have stayed at that hotel many many years ago kind of sad to see the past be wiped out and destroyed like that anyhow I really appreciate this video thank you keep up the good work
I have driven by that place 100 times.
Great video. Never stayed there but drove by about 100 times. Lots of action in LV this week, looking forward to the next show Boys!
The motel was still in the hands of the family that built it until some months ago, pity you could not have got it before it changed hands. The best rooms are in the part between the laundry room (where the two-story part makes an angle) and the burned down section which used to have the pool room and one guest room, with the owner's apartment above it. The single story structure on the other side of the pool had rooms usually renting to truckers who could park on the huge paved lot between it and the river. The single story brick structure antedates the other sections, and had been closed for a while because of work needed on the sewer system.
I like these videos
Another awesome video. Just thinking how many times I've gone past there and never gave that place a second look. Now I wonder if the alien jerky place is still open and going 😂
Stop going in abandoned places…very dangerous to do. Good video. But, your safety is priority.
You should approach Brent from Cerro Gordo, to see if you can film at Cerro Gordo. It's a solid 4 hours to get there. It's an abandoned mining town.
There is also Goldfield, which is 3 hours from LV.
I like abandoned building videos. Yours was very interesting. I liked the reviews parts. If possible in the future, add some old photos of the place (if there are any and is legal).
Next time I'm in California/Nevada area, I will stop off to see this place.
I love passing by that place
5:39 looks like a creepy yellow human body falling out of the wall insulation
I like these videos and the history you provide. My favorite part was probably the wooden ceiling in the main lobby. You can almost picture what it would be like back in it’s heyday. I remember them driving through Baker in Fear & Loathing so seeing a bit of days gone by was interesting. The Hawaiian music was a good touch too. Well done Shawn

Raul Duke and his attorney wanted to stay there on their way to Vegas but said screw it, let's just take another hit of acid and give me that damn nitrous tank.
AND WHAT WAS THAT????? WERE THOSE BATS?????
It's LAS Vegas. LAS!
What was with that desert fire in the beginning of the video?
Just ran into this video. City of Barstow recently voted to allow a casino to open in the city. Pit stop to Vegas. Perhaps, this Royal Hawaiian hotel could be a casino someday.
Baker needs some better gas stations. You go either to Chevron or Arco. I didn’t know this hotel existed.
I thought Barstow was the main stop off between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Btw great video I would definitely check that place out.
😎
Love them all. Bring us more like this. 👍😎👊
