Hey Credit Warriors, welcome to the show, in this video I am going to talk you about an exciting little trick for Capital One that seems to make their cards finally competitive with the likes of American Express, Chase and Citi.
So people on several forums have been talking about the fact that capital one cash back rewards from the quicksilver, savor and spark cash cards seem to be transferable to the Venture and Venture One cards where each cent of cash back becomes 1 capital one mile. As you know from there capital one then has a range of transfer partners you can transfer out too or you can use the miles for travel through capital one’s own system. So this hugely increases the value of the capital one system because you can create a capital one pair or trifecta that can earn miles with high bonus multipliers.
The funny thing is, this doesn’t appear to be new, it is just that capital one doesn’t seem to have ever publicized it, and blogs like frequent miler and the points guys are thus just starting to talk about it now. Check out this post from my FICO forum in 2018:
I’m probably late but did anyone else realize that you can move your Savor rewards (cash) to you Venture rewards (miles). This effectively means you can earn 4 miles per dollar on the Venture on restaurants and entertainment, if you hold the Savor as well. This is a pretty neat feature if you ask me. It becomes even better if you have the grandfathered Savor and/or Venture with grandfather 59$ fee.
So this has existed since at least 2018 and no one has been talking about and we have all been bashing Capital One like they are the second tier credit card provider behind Chase and Amex etc…
Look here is another conversation about this on Reddit:
But anyway what that person on My Fico was talking about in that comment is using the savor card to earn 4% back on dining and then transferring that cash back to the Venture card where it then becomes points, just like transferring Chase Freedom cash back to a sapphire card with chase, same exact concept. Here is how you do it.
Clip
Here is a screen shot from Frequent Miler where they show you what it looks like if you do have both of the cards needed, a cashback card to transfer from and a venture card. You can see the spark cash is listed as not eligible, since it is already a cash back card and it seems you can’t transfer from one cash back card to another.
So I encourage you guys with capital one cards to open up your account and see if you can indeed transfer from savor or quicksilver to Venture. I reached out to my contact at capital one for some clarification on this, and I have not heard anything back. Other blogs also said they reached out to capital one and have heard nothing. So maybe capital one wants to keep this like a secret that only pro credit card users know about? Whatever the case it does make the system more competitive with the likes of the Amex Gold, or Chase trifecta.
Just remember Capital One has a rule of one credit card application per six months, so if you have opened any card from any bank in the last six months you would be instantly denied for a capital one card, no hard pull though, just automatically denied. Capital One also pulls all three credit bureaus, so just remember those two points if you suddenly think “I’m going to set myself up with a capital one system” If you’re starting from nothing it will take 6 months and a load of hard pulls. But if you already have one capital one card such as the venture, it may be worth adding the savor to get that 4x on dining and entertainment. If you have the venture, like we saw earlier it isn’t worth adding the quicksilver!
Alright guys there is the video, please let me know if you have tried this in the comments below and did it work for you. Please subscribe if you are new and we will see you next time. Bye.

What about using the Capital One Walmart card making online purchases to get 5x cash back for your CO Venture card??? Anyone? I don’t have the Venture card yet, but I qualify in September and I’ll really need a travel card by then 😁 I guess I’ll save my cash back for that if it can be applied 😊 Now that I live in a metropolitan area, I can order my groceries online and have them delivered! 5x cash back all the way baby!
Cap One would get more clients if they could…. you know, make this public 🤦🏻♂️
I have the quicksilver.. cool news!
Spark Cash may convert to miles soon anyways, I got a questionnaire asking if I would be interested in the option. At the time I was only concerned about the transfer rates.
To be frank, you're letting us down, Shih Tzu. This perk has been around for three years, and you're just now telling us about it? I need to find me a better Shih Tzu.
I have a Quicksilver, my oldest card, and the Venture. I am able to move the Quicksilver rewards to the Venture Card.
Ok time to take a look at capital one again. Does the 6 month rule applies to capital one cards only or to any cc issuer when applying for a capital one credit card?
Awesome! I use the app and have never seen this. Logged in through a browser and there it was.
I don’t like Capital 1 anymore. They ignore you when you request a limit increase now. And its the smallest limit i have. Meanwhile Chase just increased the Sapphire limit to 5x what the capital one card is at. Makes no sense.
Can you transfer miles back to cash back as well or is it just one way? Anyone got data points on that?
Waller’s Wallet did a video about this in Oct 2019 on his channel
I did just check and yes you can BUT……… the option to do seems new to me. I have never seen that "choice" before on the website
Funney I've Literally been doing this for years. And to be fair if you have the Venture ONE (NO AF Version) instead of the venture, it only gets 1.25x back on purchases which actually does make the quick silver a viable option. I have both the quicksilver ONE and Venture ONE.
I transfer SavorOne cash back to Capitalone miles all the time. Quick silver transfer too if you want to use the VentureOne. No fee set up
Been doing it for a while now. Just can’t do it through the app, you need to log in to the actual site for some reason
Actually you can with the savor, quicksilver points /cash to the venture been doing it for a while now only throw the website can’t do with Walmart card thou .
Wait, did you just open up with "competitive with American Express and Citi"!?😂😂😂😂 Citi, One of the most restrictive and next to credit One the absolute worst lender in the country? I think after that statement you made, I don't need to watch any further. You honestly are here just for clickbait. If anyone here REALLY wants to know FACTUAL "secrets", or, "hacks" to improve your credit, DM me. I'm not a bookworm "professional" or YouTuber with too much time on my hands, I'm just a guy who filed BK in 2006 with over $180k in debt, to having a 720 FICO score as of late. I've helped quite a few friends assess, build and improve their credit (one JUST able to secure her very first car loan) and will be happy to give you guidelines, ESPECIALLY with CapitalOne, the BEST lender in the country, who took a chance with a guy like me 9 years ago, and has given me over $12,500 in credit availability since.
Can it be done on the mobile app as well?
Does capital one allow getting a second venture card with signup bonus if you currently have one already?
Can I product change the Cap1 Platinum to the Quicksilver, Savor or Venture1?
I got mail saying u am pre approved by capital one with quicksilver card and I applied and got it however they didn’t give me the $200 intro bonus because it wasn’t in the “deal”. I am thinking of closing the card after paying it off.
This has been possible for at least two years if not longer. C1's cards have been competitive and unfairly ripped on by outdated groupthink for a long time now. This was already a great combo made even better by recent announcements about the 1:1 transfer tier, new partners and lounges.
I must be one of the lucky ones because I was approved for the quicksilver, savor AND venture card within a 9 month period.
Am I crazy to think there are other cards out there that make it really easy to apply your points or keep on track with your payments?
Screw cap one I asked for a credit line increase and they didn’t get back to me! I pay on time each month, no interest payments.
I think the reason this so unknown is you can't do it on the app just in desktop, lol I just moved cash rewards from my Savor to my Quicksilver just to see if I could. There was also an option to move rewards to "someone else's account"? But wasn't available yet/ had to call. I would love this to be an authorized user kinda thing cause my wife holds the Venture
Capital one makes customer loyalty impossible. compared it's not worth it
I had no idea this was a thing. I have a SavorOne and a Quicksilver, maybe I should open a Venture too
I'm guessing the person at 1:55 is in my position, considering opening a Venture just to transfer their already accrued QuickSilver cashback

You can't transfer from Savor to the Spark Cash card because you can't transfer from a personal card to a business card
You are allowed to transfer between cashback cards, i.e. Savor and Quicksilver
I Almost thought you the girl of the Bloomberg news was your sister
Venture and VentureOne also gets 5x on Hotels and Cars when using CapitalOne travel portal.
I have a fico 💳 score of 850
Hhhhhhhhhhhh he took about benefit candy chocolate hot pizza hhhhhhhh never say how much limit for credit card all off them they took same stupid
I got grandfathered for savor where I don’t get charged the $95 fee 💪🏼🔥
Capital one SUCKS. Bad transfer partners and they only accept people who don’t game the system (like us) got denied with a 760 credit score and I have their venture card. Don’t get a hard pull like me for no reason.
great video. My question is there a workaround to that 6-month application process if you're applying for a business credit card, as I understand it. Business credit cards have less to do with the personal and more to do with the business that builds its own credit score.
A Venture and SavorOne combo can churn out a big chunk of change in terms of points. 3 points on grocery pretty sweet for me.
The Applying every 6 months doesn’t apply from personal to business. I Applied for a personal got approved and 2 months later applied for a business card and got approved for that aswell.
Wow, thank you for the Tips! I have been trying to get as much benefits from my Quicksilver card since it’s my first and oldest card( 10 years). I’m not trying to cancel it or allow it to be closed due to non activity. Thank you again Credit Shifu.
uh I transfer cash back between my SavorOne and Quicksilver all the time. I think rules are different with transferring between business and personal cashback cards though.
