Update: $250 airline credit posted today 🔥pic of credit in YT community tab
Bro! This is awesome! Any chance you can do a video on the United Travelbank? Never heard of it before.
Awesome video. Nothing frustrates me worse about my AMEX Plat card than trying to figure out how to use this credit. As a Delta Diamond, it is all but impossible to use since everything is pretty much covered. Anyone have suggestions?
What about using part miles part plat. Card (similar to gift card), anyone know about that?
My renewal fee kicks in this month, but luckily I maximized my airline credit last year and just had like 5 bucks that went unused.
Can confirm cheaper frontier flights triggering it. Booked a handful of one ways this week and the ones under $50 all credited. One that was $64 did not trigger the credit.
Would a $50 delta gift card + $200 plat credit + $100 gold credit + citi double cash for remaining balance work when split appropriately?
$600 starting
-$200
-$100
-$50

$250 paid with citi for 2% cashback
Ugh…. Nothing on Alaska Airlines
i wrote Amex saying covid has stalled my travel plans for 2020, I have the gold (which is mostly targets groceries/ eating out ) and they still threw me 20k points as a retention offer. highly recommend trying it. worse they could do i say no!
Can anyone confirm they have used the platinum credit for United travel bank?
Not only is the content amazing, but the timestamps are super helpful! Everyone should be adding those. Thank you!
Bro you're a goat for coming out with this. I just got my platinum with 125k signup bonus and was wondering how to take advantage of this before January 1. I've been looking all over for advice on this and couldn't find anything, thank you so much!
Is it true it’s easier to get an approval for an Amex if you open a savings, cd etc so you build a relationship ? Or that’s bogus I hear both
I have to thank you. I thought I would be stuck with my Platinum and Gold credited. I used the United travel bank. Going to do it again in January before they have a chance to closet they loophole.
Hey, can you tell me how exactly do I use the credit on Delta? can I perches mils with it?
Thanks for sharing the United travel bank info! If I had known about this earlier, I would’ve made United my airline choice for both my platinum and gold cards.
Will probably try 2x $100 for the Amex Plat tonight for United.
Hello I am doing now the United option,
Question. Travel bank is buying miles via. United mileage plus ??? And what if the purchase is over the travel credit ? For instance travel credit is 100 dollars and I want to buy 105 dollars on milles
I forgot to activate my $200 incidental BEFORE purchasing the TRAVELBANK. Should i call it in? Or will that raise red flags?
has anyone done $100 at once on the amex gold for travel bank? or should I do 2×50 to be safe? thanks!
How many United miles did you get for the $250?
Great video as always. Have lots of travel credits to use, so I’ll have to get really creative
I have used my airline credit to purchase a Southwest gift card (for several years) and it worked. I did not try this in 2020 because I was able to use the credit in its intended use.
Made united my airline choice and purchased the $175 travel bank/points on December 3rd but it still hasn't triggered the credit 🙁
How do you buy united travel bank credits?
Thanks. I was actually just trying to figure out how to use my Amex Airline credits totaling $550 this year. Trying the United Travelbank with $100 first. If all is good, I'll use the rest on it for both 2020 & 2021. Thank again.
Is this still working to date? I heard that jetBlue travel bank purchases are also triggering…
Just used Amex platinum on south west airlines for under 2 100$ tickets separately .Fingers crossed . Please let me know if some one got the airlines credit for southwest by doing this way.!
It did not trigger for my amex plat or gold.
Hey bro..Thanks for tip .iIchanged my airline to united. Can you confirm if you got credit and how much time it took. I made purchase today
I purchased an $86 seat upgrade with my Platinum card for AA and it did NOT trigger the credit. The transaction didn't even post as a seat upgrade, so I'm surprised it didn't work. But just in case anyone is using AA be aware
The unwritten rule of the AmEx travel credit should be to use any alternate method as soon as you hear about it. Don't wait because Amex is likely to close it. This video saved me from missing out on the travel credits in 2020 by using United TravelBank. I assume AmEx will be closing the United TravelBank loophole eventually so I used it again New Year's Day 2021 and those credits just hit my accounts too!
This one video netted me $600 in future travel between my Plat and Gold cards! I hope someday to be able to actually travel again. Between an 1-year old, thinking about having another one and the pandemic serious travel is not really in the cards anytime soon. Thanks again!
Thanks Waller I just got my airline fees with southwest reimbursed
I have the gold card and have the $100 airline credit. I selected Delta as my Airline, can i pay $100 with my gold card and the rest of the airfare with a different amex card instead of a gift card? would this trigger the credit?
Thank you
I tried it with southwest and I didn’t got the credit
Is this United Bank workaround still working?
Does United travelbank still work? I just did 250 instead of 100$ and it didn’t go through with the rebate. Posted on the 20th.
Hey! Does the United Travel Bank credit still work?
If I pay for a checked bag on United operated by its partner, does it trigger the credit?
is the united Travel bank still working ?? and can i transfer what in the united Travel bank to any international partner like KLM or BT ?? this is a truly easy way ….man Amex just make it for Tickets and end this war make your customers who pay you $700 happy finally….
I fully took advantage of Spirit airline for my 250 credit.
I enlisted in the 2 year SAVERS CLUB, that is about 130$, checked 1 single bag for about 70$ total, and 1 round trip flight to Miami from Ohio for 41$. I can confirm that AMEX just put through all of these purchases as a credit as of today or yesterday. My flight to miami w/ bag (bags are a bitch with spirit….)… oh, and the 2 year membership for the savers club, is all on AMEX's tab.
I hate spirit's ridiculous fee's for bags/ seats/ etc. that's my rational for using the credit with them. I was pleasantly surprised the 2 year triggers, so I am good even through the entire 2022!!!
hope you found this helpful 😛
Do you know of any details related to using credits on Alaska airlines?
