The American Express Delta Gold card has been in my wallet, but the annual fee posted to my account. And it was time to see if I should be keeping this airline credit card.

Hey brother so heres a question and its general for all cards. If card offers the bonus one every 24 months from getting the first bonus or does that mean 24 months from signing up for the credit card or from when you hit the bonus mark and received the bonus if that makes sense?
I'm getting close to that situation because my annual fee date for the gold Delta card is next month. I know that I should downgrade or cancel this card but can't make a decision which right now. I currently in the 6/24 and Will be under 5/24 by February of 2021 and I'm eyeing to get some Chase card s by that time. So my question is if I downgrade my Delta gold card to the blue Delta card will it reset the timeline and prolong my being over the 5/ 24 rule because I'm getting a new card? If it does reset the clock then I'm good cancelling the card instead of downgrading it
I am usually an American Airlines flyer but I would really like to try Delta out and possibly fly them more often. I got denied for the Delta Platinum card for not having the Gold Card long enough (at least that's what they said) but I plan on grabbing the Delta Platinum card in the future for the companion certificate. I think you did the right thing by cancelling. I would have, too, since we both have a good credit card foundation but maybe I would have upgraded to the Platinum if there was an offer to go along with it. Thumbs up Dustin on the video, keep 'em coming. Take care and happy travels!
I downgraded mine. Possible to get potentially solid upgrade offer in the future.
All AmEx MR points transfer to Delta at 1:1. The Gold and Platinum cards earn more skymiles than any of the Delta cards. I honestly don't understand why anyone gets Delta credit cards.
Nice video Dustin. I actually wrote down a similar video the other day. But from a different point of view, so when that comes out at least you'll know I'm not copying you. Keep up the hard work.
I believe amex only gives retention offers every other year on the card. My af recently hit as well and I'm thinking about canceling and hoping to get another sign up bonus for it again lol
I would have canceled for all the same reasons; I currently have platinum and I’m on a path to do the same thing late next year.
Do u think I can apply for a card with my oldest account being 1 year 6 months but my average age of credit being only 9 months? Or should I wait until my average age is greater than 1 year?
I’m looking for a referral link for gold delta card
Downgrade to blue sky miles
You mentioned Bangor. Is that Bangor, Washington?
So here's my situation and why I will try and downgrade to the blue or upgrade to platinum.
I only fly delta unless I have to fly another airline.
I'm 6'7 350lb I'm built like a offensive lineman. I only fly first class. Or at worst comfort + main cabin 1 boarding is nice but I get ahead of that everytime. 2X miles on delta flight isn't worth it since I will the CSP for UR points and travel protections! I never flew enough to use a waiver for medallion status. I however used the gold delta card to get access to delta sky club for $29 i would spend 3 hours or more in the lounge drinking and eating to have positive expected value. But they got rid of the skyclub access.
I think it's a no brainer to downgrade to delta blue or possibly upgrade to the Delta Platinum
I like this segment in your channel, when you canceled it how would it affect your CS? Just curious because I’m looking to get the platinum with the 100k offer but I normally fly 1st anyway so I’m boarding and bags come free.. also hold the Amex platinum and gold so the credits come handy.
Great video!!
Smh signed up for the delta card 2 months to early… new promotion is fire
I currently have the Business Delta Platinum card with increased annual fee coming due next month. Not worth keeping as I can’t use the companion pass this coming year. Either downgrade to Biz Gold ( already got SUB) or cancel. I have been getting great AMEX offers for Staples and Lowe’s on this card worth $150-200 each year. Does anyone know if I downgrade to Gold and then upgrade to
Are you still able to use Delta Skymiles if you cancel the card?
Very Nice video! Very straight forward ! Questions?!
Do they run yr credit when you request for a downgrade? I have the Delta Gold and want to downgrade for the Delta blue!?
Yo man… I am so glad I found your video on the AMEX delta gold…. I’m still trying 2 figure out which airline card brings the most value for us right. We’ve used mostly American and United over the last several years. But, because we are so invested in both AMEX and Chase with rewards points….. I just had to also consider Delta. Now I’m thinking American probably gives us the most value, but they aren’t partner with any of my current card companies! What 2 do ??? What 2 do ??? LOL!
Delta tickets have sky rocketed. Because they won’t use the middle seat. Which makes me consider American Airlines as my second option airline. I may have to downgrade my gold card.
Great video.
did you used up all the welcome delta miles before you cancelled the card on the 2nd yr?
Do you get to keep your miles if you downgrade? Only thing I wanted to know.
