Amex Rose Gold Card is Back – Here’s How to Get it… – The Credit Shifu

Guys we have been played. I thought I had a limited edition rose gold amex card. Cashiers would marvel at its rare color. Women would go on dates with me just to see me pay the bill with my seductively pinkish golden card. Gay men would want the card for its flamboyant style.

Well guess what? Now all those people can have the card. Because they have brought it back permanently.

Hey credit warriors, so yeah the rose gold card is back for good, it isn’t limited edition anymore, its not something an exclusive group of people have. It is just as common as the regular gold now. Here is a video of Amex celebrating this decision to betray all those cardmembers who thought the Rose gold card made them special.

Anyway we will tell you how you can get it in a minute, but here is what Rachel Stocks, Executive Vice President, Global Premium Products and Benefits at American Express said about the decision.

“Our Rose Gold design quickly became a Card Member favorite when we introduced the limited-edition design a few years ago, so we knew we needed to bring it back as an option to choose from permanently,”

Here is something Business Wire said about the decision:

A recent Amex Trendex survey found that 3 in 5 (59%) consumers would be interested in choosing their Card design when picking a Credit Card and furthermore, 39% of consumers said that the look and feel of a Card is important to them when choosing a Credit Card.

So now when you apply for gold you will get a question asking you if you want the gold design or the rose gold design. But what if you are an existing member? Can you just switch to rose gold and then be able to get into the Rose gold lounge like all us limited edition folks? Well it seems the answer is yes.

People have been posting in our credit dojo facebook group about their success in switching, some did it by online chat with an Amex Rep. And others did it over the phone. And by the way if you want to join that group feel free to search it on facebook and answer the questions and we will let you in.

So yeah that is it. If you are an existing member and want to change, you can use either of those two methods. If you are interested in getting the card for the first time you will be able to choose rose gold and there is currently a 60,000 point welcome bonus and they just brought in a $10 per month Uber credit, which I just used for Tacos delivered by Uber Eats last night. And there is also another $10 dining credit for seamless and grubhub, so you basically get $240 of your $250 annual fee back through food credits so it is a pretty sweet deal.

But for me it is still disappointing. They better not touch the limited edition felt green card that gets you into the green card snooker lounge.
